5.0 out of 5 stars Must Have if You're Serious About Omaha, February 24, 2011

He's a great author and explains it really well.

This is geared towards big money (10/20 PL+) games, not your typical home game scenario.

He does a great job of explaining strategy and execution. I feel my game improved as a result.

What a piece of junk.

The majority of the book is in the order of, "Ah had this littl' hand down in a game in Texas an' the flop came with two little spades, so I pounded the sucker and then ah..." There are maybe 9 or 10 pages worth of content in the whole book. Most of it comes from McEvoy, and some of it is almost certainly wrong.

The section on Pot Limit is of questionable value, since most pot-limit Omaha games spread now are high-low, not straight high.

Bob Ciaffone's book is better, and Ray Zee's book is much better. Stick with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Omaha, October 15, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Championship Omaha: Omaha High-Low, Omaha High and Pot-Limit Omaha (Paperback)
For those interested in mastering Omaha Hold 'Em there are very few books avalable on the market. And of those that have been published, T. J. Cloutier's "Championship Omaha" is by far the best guide available. Like other books in the "Championship" series, this book presents an organized look at starting hands, preflop play, flop play, tournament strategy, and more. Ever since T.J.'s books were mentioned in a televised interview by an amateur who placed second in the WSOP as being very instrumental in getting him there, these books have become highly sought after and hard to find. And with the case of this Omaha book, it's justified as it's the best available.
