Book Description

Chan Mi Gong (CMG) is a combination of Tantric and Zen Buddhist Qigong systems. It is best known for it's rhythmic undulating wave type motions that ripple throughout the body. CMG is popular for it's ability to develop internal Qi, regulate body metabolism, promote health, prevent illness, bring forth latent ability and develop intelligence. CMG's special focus on rolling the spine helps to loosen the whole body and increase circulation. The wisdom techniques of CMG are well known for opening the third eye and elevating consciousness.

The movements of the Chan Mi Gong system are gentle and very easy on the body. They are simple enough for the beginner to learn quickly. However, one must be dedicated with time and practice in order to allow the body to relax and flow evenly. The CMG system is one of the most effective Qigong systems in existence for loosening the joints of the body. By moving the body in rhythmic rolling and twisting motions the hips, shoulders and spine become loose and pliable. Once the major quadrants of the body become loose from practice the Qi can circulate freely throughout the whole body.

Students of Taijiquan can experience substantial gains in generating circular power from practicing Chan Mi Gong. Since the Mi (Tantric) sect has its origins in India the movements of CMG are similar to those used by eastern dancers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed, September 15, 2001

This review is from: Chan Mi Gong Qigong [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have never written a review on anything I have purchased from amazon, but felt I needed to rate this video.

I was not pleased at all. I am not that familar with Qi Gong. I have been practing yoga and am scheduled to attend a workshop on Qi Gong and thought it would be helpful to learn something about it prior to the workshop. Well, the quality of tape is very poor. There is mostly demonstration without any explanation. I was hoping for some of both. Some people may be pleased with it, but I was outraged. At $X, the quality should have been three times what it was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, July 3, 2002

This review is from: Chan Mi Gong Qigong [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Having devoted my life to Qigong and Taijiquan for many years, as both student and teacher I was very pleased to make acquaintance with this system. The video is clearly presented by Sifu Charron, and the balance between description and practice is excellent. This really is a must for those who not only want to expand and deepen their Qigong experience, but who also wish to use their Qigong to deepen and enrich their Taijiquan. Students in my classes who are new to Qigong start with some of the workout and enjoy feeling the energy flow straight away. I have found this an invaluable tape; it provides wonderful exercises for loosening the joints and getting connected, and gets the juices flowing to such an extent that more than once my students have asked "Must we stop now?".

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Effective, March 18, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Chan Mi Gong Qigong [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have been practicing yoga, tai chi and qi gong for several years. I have found each to be effective in some way. However, I have found nothing that gives me ready energy any faster than following this Chan Mi Gong program. Often, in the morning I have time for only the first few movements, but they have always been sufficient to give me energy and positive motivation for the day. The only time I had trouble was once when I surpassed the recommended 5 minutes limit per movement that the author recommends. This gave me a feeling of high blood pressure and irritability for the entire day; I felt kind of like I was about to pop. I'll not do that again.
