Loved this book! I'm probably not the typical demographic for this book since I was born in 1980, but I've always loved that era and wished I could have experienced it. Such a fun story to read and very well written! Can't wait for more books from this author. . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Very fun read! This book is rich with mid-1950's life in New Jersey from the fresh perspective of a high schooler. Intertwined with 50's popular places and dancing are 21st century teenage ideas and angst that still resonate and hold true today.

I lived in that area and that time in NJ. It brought back lots of memories. I was able to put real names to the people and places in the book.

I enjoyed reading this book. It brought back so many old memories as I grew up in this error and did so many of the same things that she did during my high school years. I didn't want it to end. It was such a fun, light reading book. So good for young people to read and definitely for the older ones like me. Looking forward to Barbara' next book.

This book should be in every junior and senior high school library. Its just plain good reading and every teen would love it. I'm looking forward to Barbara next book about Susie and her growing up teen years. Her characters come alive especially Walter. I'm glad something good happens to him. Growing up in the 50's, its easy to read this book and my memory bank is full of my own high school time of friends, dances, yes girls did dance with girls, and sock hop in the gym, definitely no shoes allowed and ice cream shops and cute guys....i married my high school sweetheart. I liked also the relationship Susie and her parents had. Great book, makes me think of Seventeenth Summer a book I read in my teens. I always wanted to read another like it, now I have.!

This book is a sweet summer read. Knowing Barbara personally made it even more special. I look forward to reading more of Barbara's work in the future. Congratulations to Barbara on capturing the joys and frustrations that all teenagers experience.
