sexist, uncreative, same ol' masculine bs, November 5, 2007
This review is from: Chances (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
Oh Michael, what in the world have you created? I found this book to be unimaginative and so sexist, that I had to keep reading just to share with my friends how horrible it was. The story line is not believable and the author doesn't have a clue about women's sexuality.
All the females are golddiggers, all the men are rapists, and this story taps into the worse black America has to offer. I don't even mean the crime either. It was uncomfortable to read as a female with a degree of consciousness. I wanted the story to have some redeeming value--on some level. I understand thug life, to a degree, but I wanted the author to give me that with a twist. Alas, it didn't happen.

"A Woman's Worth", April 24, 2007
This review is from: Chances (Triple Crown Publications Presents) (Paperback)
"Chances" is the ultimate tale of survival in a game that many seem to lose. DeAndre is your average ex-convict that hits the block going for what he knows. He's trying to get back in the game, and because of his loyalty has his crew assembled, but life and family are his stumbling blocks. He's trying to get that money, find a true ride or die chick, watch out for baby sis, who seems to be drawn to an abusive kingpin, which makes them enemies.
Michael mos def penned a best seller with the electric chemistry between all of the characters, all loyal and down for each other until the very end. If you want to read urban lit in its rawest, rarest form, in all its glory, this is one of the ultimate reads with DeAndre, Ebony, DeeDee, Tony, Rich, and Eric. The characters are well defined, the storyline is consistent, and Ebony is definitely, 'bout it, 'bout it!! She's a down azz chic that earns all of her respect!!! Ain't no half-stepping with lil mama!!
Micheal, lemme say Michael, one more time!!! Take your bow, because your introductory debut was MAGNIFICENT!!! Blessings to you and anxiously awaiting your sophomore piece of work!!! Keep 'em coming my brotha!!!
