5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!, July 25, 2007
This review is from: Chandelier (Audio CD)
Arimura Ryuutaro has *THE* most amazing voice! ::sigh::

I originally bought this CD for "namae no nai hana". It was the only song I had heard, which I received as a file from a friend, and although this song is a bit poppy, it makes me feel happy, so I wanted to buy the CD to see if the other songs were as good.

They are. Really, they exceed expectation.

"Ghost" and "cage for rent" are my favorites of all. Upon first hearing them, I think I listened to each one at least 40 times. Ryuutaro's voice is really unique in "ghost"--it's a really torn-up and painful feel that really grabs me (I wish I understood it better but the lyrics in the book are difficult--I think I get it, though).

"Cage for rent" was actually so moving that the first time I heard it made tears come to my eyes. Truly beautiful. I can't stop listening to it; although I've only had it a week, I think it will definitely go on my list of eternal faves.

I also like "hat.red, dip.it"; it has an awesome, edgy feel to it (sorry, I can't really describe it very well in words--maybe angry, but something else is there too).

All of the songs on the album are really great, but those are my favorites.

An interesting aspect of some of the songs on "Chandelier" is that you can't listen to the first two seconds of the song and determine what it's like. Some of the songs will change their entire tone after that, it's like a little quirk they put in to throw you off or something. I can't remember all of the songs on which this occurs, but most notably it's "namae no nai hana" and "ghost".

PuraTuri has *DEFINITELY* earned a new "kurage"--I wish I could join the fanclub, but it's Japan-only T-T...

I hope they come to the US so I can see them live!
