I drooled over this color and mulled over the price for months. Finally I decided to buy it, and was not disappointed. I honestly believe I purchased more polish in the past few months to make up for my *inability* to have this color (guilt). $200+ vs $26... I should have just bought what I really wanted. Now that I have it, I'm beyond satisfied. I can't speak for the long term lasting power, but wanted to chime in as I see others have had problems with only one day of wear.
I have long nails, manicure regularly, and my color it still intact after 72 hours. There are no chips in the polish and it's not beginning to flake off. I actually did chip a *nail* but my manicure is still perfectly intact otherwise after 3 days of ...managing my two boys (ages 10 and 7), showering, shampooing, grooming, typing, shopping, light house work, etc. So, for me, it has stayed on for at least 3 days with no problems.
I applied 2 coats of this polish to my naked nails, no base coat and no top coat. My nails are also fairly well buffed, smooth but not to a high shine. I'm mentioning this because I know that nonbuffed nails sometimes have more issues with chipping polish. I also painted this on rather thinly. With this color you have to be careful of polish "drag" if you paint over the same section again. Also, it does leave brush marks /streaks as mentioned by another reviewer, but they're not really noticable at all. They're faint and, thanks to the glimmer of this nail color, pretty well camouflaged.
I tend not to like polish which changes color, most of them seeming tacky or too over the top for me. That is not the case with this color. It's definitely gold and fun, but it's not as dramatic as other similar polishes, in my opinion. The drying time was also pretty good!... Read more ›

I received this nail polish from my boyfriend and it was the best present ever. I didn't feel right paying $25 for a bottle of nail polish, but I really wish I had know about this polish years ago. I have had this polish on for 5 days now and it hasn't even start chipping yet, it looks like new. Not sure how the women in the other reviews had chips right away because this is seriously the better than OPI and Essie by a long shot.

Although the supplier was excellent, I cannot say too much about the quality of this Chanel product. THe color is unique and gives off different colors in different light and as you move your hands.
However, for the price of Chanel polish at $26 is far too much for nail polish that lasts less than one day. By the end of the day, the polish had pealed, worn off at tips, cracked and was generally a mess and had to be redone in another color. I did no labor except computer e-mails and ran 3 miles on the treadmill at 4 p.m. By 4 p.m. I was embarrassed by the manicure at the gym and yoga class.
I love Chanel No. 5.perfume... But would not buy another bottle of nail polish of this brand. Perhaps a more conservative color would last better and longer.

Ugh. Had the same problems with the Peridot as with the Black Pearl -- the color is a gorgeous iridescent (Peridot is primarily a greenish-gold to me, but I think different people see different things in it). The polish quality, however, is terrible. It chips almost instantly, and because the brush strokes stay visible instead of disappearing the way they're supposed to, any attempts to repair them are obvious, so the entire nail has to be redone. I won't be buying anymore light-colored Chanel frosts; the colors may be beautiful, but I'll go with the $8 Essie knockoffs instead of paying $25+ a bottle for something that's so cheaply formulated that it chips the minute you touch your hair or pick up a fork.

This is my all time favorite color. Formula is really nice, too. As another commenter said, use thin coats. I always use a base coat, three thin coats of polish, then a top coat (usually Seche Vite). It usually lasts around two and a half to three days.

I was expecting this polish to wow me. Instead, it reminded me of an OPI nail polish for four times the price. The color is pretty but not extraordinary. It is more of a goldish brown than a green as shown. I change my nail color frequently, but this polish has lasted three days so far with a base coat, two coats of the polish, a konad stamp pattern on top, and Essie's Matte About You. It looks actually really pretty with the matte topcoat. It looks almost like a gold. However, I wouldn't recommend it because it's not worth $40. I'm sticking to OPI and China Glaze instead.

This nailpolish in the shade "Peridot" is unique and elegant! It will match any color you're wearing, since it is irridescent, changing color from gold to green to turquoise like a peacock feather. I was especially impressed with the fact that one coat covers the nail perfectly, no need to apply two, which cuts your manicure time in half. The polish does not streak, it covers very evenly and does not smudge. It lasts well also and usually does not start to chip for about 3 days. I would buy this again and have looked for other colors as well. Great product, worth every penny!
