It's only Acu-Rite for about a year...,

We purchased this larger clock (the Cheney "Acu-Rite" 24 inch indoor/outdoor) for our patio & loved that we could see it from the pool. We received many compliments on it, and it actually keeps temp and humidity readings fairly well unlike some of the reviews we've read about other clocks from the same company.Unfortunately, it quit keeping accurate time after about a year. I changed out the batteries several times to no avail - even with a new/different brand. The clock works fine for a while and then stops sporadically for hours at a time. The hands are not catching on anything...and nothing appears to be warped. Our next step, since we are past the warranty, is to attempt to replace the clock motor. If that doesn't work, to the trash bin it goes! |
