I've wanted one of these for many years, and saw Amazon had them for sale at reasonable prices. I will admit I was worried about them shipping a glass/liquid container across the country and getting it in one piece. Turns out the nerves were unfounded as it is a pretty sturdy piece of glass, and doesn't feel thin or cheap. Nice looking thermometer, and for a respectable price. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

This item is completely inaccurate it does not work at all. It is ALWAYS at 72 degrees no matter what temperature I place it in. It has been freezing and the thermostat clearly says a far lower number but the thermometer always stays at 72 degrees no matter what I do. This one is nothing like the old galileo thermometer I used to own before it broke. I am very unhappy.

This makes a great Christmas present. It's a curious item which attracts attention and requires an explanation so it's fun to give and to have.

I purchased it as a gift. I was told it arrived in good condition. My friends thought it was pretty and it was accurate.

This thermometer is something my husband LOVES! The first one we received was broken, but that's the problem with shipping something made entirely of glass across the country. However, when I contacted the company, they shipped a replacement out super quick. It arrived in perfect condition,and the Father's Day gift was a success! I was extremely impressed with this company and will be happy to do business with them again.

The thermometer is great. My dad said he had always wanted one and when he opened it, it was one of his favorite gifts this year. The item came intact with proper packaging and is easily readable. It does seem a bit fragile, so I wouldn't recommend it being placed low to the ground where it can get knocked over. It's pretty accurate too; our house doesn't fall below 64 degrees and it has always been spot on. Great as a gift and a great conversation starter. Every time someone comes over, they always ask about it!

I ordered 2 of these and 1 arrived broken. I exchanged it and received another broken one, so I ended up just returning it and keeping 1 of them.
The one that arrived undamaged works great though!

Bought this to replace a museum-shop thermometer that was broken when I got it home. This Chaney Instrument model arrived well-packed and ready to go. Beautiful and functional. Unlike some other commenters, I've found it's remarkably accurate -- seldom more than 2 deg. off. I got mine for $12.81 plus shipping, but now that I've seen it, I'd happily pay the current price of $25.

Very nice, especially for the price. Be careful of packing if you are shipping it else where (after you receive it), breaks easily.
