It was dead on arrival.
The light was working; but unfortunately it wasn't suitable to do duty as a halfway competent flashlight.
Mockingly the alarm test was working; you could listen all you want to how it would have sounded, if only it worked. But it never did.
It was too light and flimsy to work even as a paperweight.
Oh, well!
Into the trash it went!
