Check the time from across the room without squinting with the large, green LED display on this digital alarm clock. Made by Chaney Instruments, the black alarm clock employs 1-4/5-inch high digits, ideal for users with imperfect vision. A dimmer setting adjusts the display’s brightness to one’s personal preference. To distinguish between times before and after noon, a PM indicator light is provided. Another indicator light denotes whether or not the alarm is on. For slow risers, a snooze button temporarily silences the alarm for a few more minutes of sleep. In the event of a power outage or relocation, the clock takes a 9-volt battery for power back-up. The clock requires the separate purchase of this battery. The clock measures 3-3/8 by 7-1/2 by 3 inches and weighs 14-3/4 ounces.

If you want a very nice alarm clock with a large display this is it. The display is hugh so it can be easily viewed from across the room and there is a dimmer setting if you want a low level of brightness. The control buttons are large and easy to use. My wife has poor eye sight and loves this clock.

Just let me list cons of this clock, since it has almost no "pro"-s:
1. Indication is not GREEN, it's YELLOW.
2. Indicator is not a 7 segment LED. It is just painted like that, and inside each segment there are 2 yellow leds, nicely visible.
3. There's no built in crystal oscillator, this unit takes frequency from AC line (Silan Semiconductors SC8560 IC is used). This means, if you're in rural area with less stable frequency in AC line, you most likely will have 10 minute error per week. (Manufacturer saved $0.20 by not installing crystal oscillator inside). My grandpa's cuckoo clock had much more accuracy!
4. When on battery backup, indicator is NOT enabled, and also, clock starts to mess up the time wildly.
5. Overall build quality is very bad, with most screws missing, plastic having bad odour and so on.
I wanted to have reliable LED clock, so this is why I paid so much for it. But all I've got is the same quality and features, I can get for $2 at chinese fleamarket. So, Be careful when buying this clock.

Alright for a general clock.
Dimmer only has two modes, bright, and bright. It isnt an actual dimmer, there is no real noticeable difference in light modes, i promise you that. Read more

Love this clock!!!
I love the simplicity of this clock. No guessing or reading a manual. The buttons are very self-explanatory. I love the large green numbers too!

Large Numbers and very easy to see
This clock has very large numbers and it is bright and easy to read from across the room. even if your site is not great and you wear glasses i bet you can read this clock.
