Another Excellent Book from the Change One Series,

I initially bought "Change One for Diabetes" and thought it was such an excellent book that I decided to have a look at this version for my daughter who is non-diabetic. These books are such a novel approach and one that leads to lasting change. The premise is in the title - Change One thing at a time and don't move onto any other changes until you have managed to make that change a new habit. These books are full of straightforward, easy to accomplish ideas that just strike you as eminently "doable." Don't be put off by the fact that they are issued by the Reader's Digest Group - I had those same "Reader's Digest???" thoughts at first, too. This is one of the best non-diet diet books I've seen. And it works, too!

This book is helpful in planning a diet because it contains easily read, useful pages on things like the exact numbers of various types of nuts which constitute a 1 oz serving for snacks, etc. There are a few good-looking recipes which I haven't tried; however, recipes are not the focus of the book. The planning elements are the main focus and very useful.

This book is a life style change, you can't think of it as a diet.
Like so many others the mimute you think diet the brakes go on, well now think eating change, behavior change, LIFE change.

I'm in my 50's and have put on some weight over the past 10 years. I have purchased every diet book published. I'm happy to say this will be my last diet book purchase! This diet and fitness plan is great for everyone. The plan reminds you of the basics - eat a healthy and balance diet and exercise!
This is not a read all at once and then get started book! The 12 week plan tackles one meal at a time starting with breakfast! All food is allowed! The key is controlling portion sizes! I have been on the plan for two weeks and have have lost 12lbs. I'm exercising for the first time in years and the best part is I'm not hungry! Forget the gimmicks - come back to the real world and learn how to eat for the right reasons. This is a plan that I CAN live with.
