"How to Change Your Spouse" offers worthwhile, enjoyable reading for people in longterm intimate relationships. It also makes for good outside reading for therapists to give to couples in marriage counseling. Wright and Oliver alternate the authorship of chapters. Both employ a great deal of humor and easily recognizable everyday scenarios in which the reader finds his or her own experiences. Oliver's writing feels especially supportive and encouraging.

Absolutely great book. Don't let your spouse see that you are reading it, and don't think for a minute that the title is correct. This book is about how to change YOU. This might change your spouse, but it will be by his/her choice, not by manipulation on your part. What you will find is that this is an excellent book about how you can do the things that you are able to do,......and changing someone else is not one of those things. You may understand your spouse better, but you will see that the real power in your relationships belongs to you, and there is no guarantee that others will be, and act, as good to you as you will become being to yourself, and to them.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the ones I cannot change,
The courage to change the one I can,
And the wisdom to know...it's me.
