It worked for me.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Change Your Handwriting, Change Your Life (Paperback)
In 1998, I attended a conference where Vimala Rodgers presented on the topic CHANGE YOUR HANDWRITING, CHANGE YOUR LIFE. I didn't attend, and bought the audiotape. I tossed the tape into my Walkman with mild curiosity. My psychology background had taught me how subtly some muscle movements and neurological activity are connected. I knew how difficult it is to yell "Wow! I'm feeling great!" when I'm slumped over in a droopy posture. So, in this attitude of mild curiosity, I listened to Vimala while I was doing other things. Since I always enjoyed handwriting, I tried forming letters the way Vimala had described at her presentation, particularly the lower case t and d. I just worked them into my usual handwriting for the fun of it. To my surprise, within a week or so, I found myself thinking things that had not occurred to me before, thoughts related to the topics addressed by these two letters. I noticed that I began swinging my arms during my daily walk without trying--something I'd tried repeatedly to do for increased aerobic effect, only to forget to make the effort as I walked. That a tiny handwriting change could account for this stuff didn't occur to me. I began to write in my journal to delve into these changes. I observed that these Vimala-style d's and t's were the only recent change I'd made. Curiouser and curiouser. . . Then, I learned that Vimala was here on the East Coast on sabbatical; what do you know? She was staying about a 2 hour drive from my home. I sought her out, and it was then that I bought her book, CHANGE YOUR HANDWRITING, CHANGE YOUR LIFE. That so much potential could be packed into such a slim, graceful volume surprised me once again. I found its author to be quick to say that there's no panacea to be found in this work; however, it's a powerful tool--literally at our fingertips! I thought, "Can't hurt; might help." Vimala made a couple of individualized suggestions for my handwriting practice in addition to the suggestions in the book, and I followed her well-written instructions. Well! The increasingly empowered/ing new thoughts continued and increased. I dreamed in color for the first time in my life. The ending of a recurring dead-end dream changed into an open-ended, encouraging one. Believe me, as I write this, I have to worry (a little) that the whole world will consider me a crackpot. I only tell you my experience. No, there are no controlled, double-blind, placebo group studies to prove that Vimala's methods work. I know firsthand how hard it is to do rigorous research, and I know that "scientific" means "measurable". The results I experienced from changing my handwriting cannot be measured. I can't dispute that. However, to quote Dr. Irvin D. Yalom: "Generally, the accuracy of the measurement is directly proportional to the triviality of the variable." (The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy, p.6). Check the literature for studies on anger, if you doubt this. CHANGE YOUR HANDWRITING, CHANGE YOUR LIFE is like its author--to-the-point, no-nonsense, deeply human, funny, and gentle. Graphically, it is lovely. Directions for the exercises are clear and easy to follow. They require no specific equipment, and there are no dangerous side-effects. Vimala has done such a good job with her book that you don't need to meet with her to get the benefits of her work. Now that Vimala is back on the West Coast, I rely on the book when it's clear to me that my handwriting needs a "tune-up." (Or just to re-read the delightful account of how Vimala's handwriting work really started when she was just two-years-old.) WARNING: Don't expect any changes from CHANGE YOUR HANDWRITING, CHANGE YOUR LIFE if all you plan to do is read; nothing will change from your simply reading this book. The power of the book's content is in doing the exercises. If you're willing to do the exercises as Vimala describes them, I'll bet you'll join me before long in saying, "It works for me."

For anyone who is serious about their personal growth,
By Kimberly Freedman (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Change Your Handwriting, Change Your Life (Paperback)
Not only have I read this book and her latest one as well (Your Handwriting Can Change Your Life - March, 2000), I have studied under her since 1995. She is as giving, intuitive, passionate, and honest about her work as she comes across in her books. Many studies have validated that handwriting is brain writing. Therefore, by making healthy handwriting changes, these changes will be displayed through one's personality. Vimala, however, is the only person I know who has actually developed healthy writing strokes that focuses on building character and making personal transformations. I highly recommend this book and her new book.

Uplifting use for graphology,
By A Customer
This review is from: Change Your Handwriting, Change Your Life (Paperback)
Psychological script analysis or graphology has competition and opposition from many quarters. Psychometric testers claim greater accuracy for recruitment and compatibility studies. Forensic questioned document examiners claim greater scientific rigour than court graphologists. Human rights groups attack graphology as an invasion of privacy. Graphology may upset people because it is considered either insufficiently accurate or because it is too analytical, negative and invasive. But there is one area where an understanding of handwriting has unique possibilities and that is graphotherapy. It is the subject of Vimala Rodgers's Book "Change Your Handwriting, Change Your Life". Human beings naturally tend to see themselves and their place in society from their own point of view. Graphotherapy helps people to understand their innermost feelings, fears and moods, yet at the same time become more sensitive to others' feelings. Innately we all need to move forward and grow. How to do this on one's own is often not easy. Here Vimala Rodgers's book can be a great help. It outlines a way for readers to audit their attitudes. It presents handwriting exercises which act as focused meditation, helping the reader in such areas as listening, patience, resentment, forgiveness and gratititude. Subsequently, handwriting analysis is able to monitor the extent to which this focused meditation through graphotherapy has changed the way the reader is living. Qualified graphologists will see this book as a useful addition to their library on stroke analysis, but it is much more than this. The book contains a whole-life, uplifting philosopy which takes it outside the specialised field of graphology.

Extremely insightful,
By jhanks@alleghenypower.com (Pittsburgh, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Change Your Handwriting, Change Your Life (Paperback)
I am a person who, for the first 40 years of her life, couldn't keep from continually imitating the handwriting of those around me. I always knew that certain handwriting strokes engendered very specific feelings and emotions and I tried to use this to my advantage, but to no avail. This book was just the help I needed in showing me exactly which strokes were positive and should be reinforced for good character. Since reading it in 1995, I have been able to develop, for the first time in my life, my OWN handwriting style. This book truly helped me on a very personal level.

I am unable to write such words that give Vimala justice about how her book has effected my life. All I can say is if one chooses to experience what the book has to offer then your options in life will become greater, your sense of direction will become clearer and life will become more joyous. Vimala is an uplifting teacher and incredible mentor.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION !!,
By MaryJenkins "Mary Jenkins" (Somewhere Over the Rainbow) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Change Your Handwriting, Change Your Life (Paperback)
This is a great product... YES. Is Vimala a wonderful and educated person... YES. HOWEVER it important to note that, on an internet radio show, I heard Vimala state that she is NOT a handwriting expert OR a handwriting therapist but she IS an ALPHABETICIAN. Is she then qualified to write on handwriting THERAPY? There is a BIG difference in my opinion!! Dr. Pierre Janet, a pioneering French psychologist and philosopher in the field of dissociation and trauma was the first person to prove the connection between a person's past experiences and present-day issues. He is also the first person to use the words "dissociation' and `subconscious'. In many ways he preceded Dr. Sigmund Freud and many consider Janet the true founder of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. He received an honorary doctorate from Harvard in 1936. One of Dr. Pierre Janet's students during the 1940's - a graphologist named Paul S. Colombe - developed the `pen and pencil therapy' or "Grapho-therapeutics". He stated that, when writing, the subconscious sends a message to the hand and, by reversing the process, we could consciously send a different message to the subconscious. Thus grapho-therapy, was developed from this theory although no actual programs per se were put into place or implemented specifically until 1987. In 1987 Treyce d'Gabriel, a Metaphysical Psychologist, who also has traditional psychology degrees and has worked in traditional psychology for most of her life, created the Handwriting Formation Therapy (HFT) program... and copyrighted it 13 years prior to Vimala's first book "Change Your Writing, Change Your Life". Since the conception of Treyce's HFT program, there have been many programs which appear to be unauthorized attempts or copies of her program, most of which classify themselves under an umbrella term of "graphotherapy". Despite Treyce's 2009 YouTube and otherwise public announcement that she would allow "HFT clinics" to be launched all over the world, as of 2010, Treyce has not trained or certified anyone in the HFT discipline stating the certification is currently being developed. In 2006 Treyce was the first analyst in history to conduct research that was aimed at reducing crime recidivism rates via the HFT program. Her 2006 project for the State of Texas Juvenile Probation Commission was a proven success. All the kids that participated remained 100% anonymous and, after the full six month program, improved grades, behaviors, self-esteem, and much more. The most important success is that to-date, none of these kids have reoffended proving that Treyce's HFT program not only reduced, but stopped, juvenile crime recidivism rates in Texas by a full 100%. Since its conception in 1987, hundreds of kids and adults around the globe have changed their life... permanently. I recommend you visit http://www.WrittenEscape.com and search for her "No Doc, No Drugs" book aimed at this HFT program. When you want to change your life shouldn't you change it with someone who is clearly qualified... like the creator of the original program?

This book has and well planned new script to choose and change your handwriting one character at a time over a period that will realistically fix the change on a brain change level. 40 days and a rational reason to change the letter is the magic idea to make it permanent. Who Knew? Thanks Vimala!
