5.0 out of 5 stars Life-changing reading!
By page 20, I knew this was a very special book. Rhonda has a familiar voice, speaks like a friend who cares enough to give it to you straight, and gives us the very rare of gift of realistic action-oriented solutions and freeing thought processes. One particular gem turned a big switch on for me, and I've made tremendous, brave steps that in turn (and this is the best...

3.0 out of 5 stars So-So
While I think the concept of what the author is writing about is excellent, it gets jumbled by having the reader be subjected to lists upon lists and play on words. Who cares what the difference is between "affirmation" and "intention" and how you write them and discern. Get to the facts. I think this should be taken in baby steps - not introducing the person who wants to...

By page 20, I knew this was a very special book. Rhonda has a familiar voice, speaks like a friend who cares enough to give it to you straight, and gives us the very rare of gift of realistic action-oriented solutions and freeing thought processes. One particular gem turned a big switch on for me, and I've made tremendous, brave steps that in turn (and this is the best part) have given all of my relationships a new strength and comfort level. This is the first book I've read where the insights stay with you. There's no going back to a life of fear and worry. Thanks, Rhonda. You're a treasure.

5.0 out of 5 stars I changed my life!, June 16, 2004

I feel like by the end of this book Rhonda (Britten) was the best friend that I had never met. She hits to the core with facing the fears that hold each of us back. This is, honestly, the only book that I have read, to the end, and applied to my life. She goes beyond the normal "self-help" books. She makes you do the work and that is why it is successful. Her story of facing fear is most heartening and inspirational beyond belief. Her life's tribulations are what made her today. To be able to take the fear out of your life and use it to benefit your life is truly amazing insight! A "must read" for anyone that truly wants to be true to themselves and do what they really want to do - in all parts of their life! Thank you Rhonda, from the bottom of my heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only on day four, but so far, WOW!, February 14, 2004
By
B-Man (Orlando, FL) - See all my reviews
I am on day four of working through all of the exercises and this book has already surpassed all of my expectations. I am not sure if because of watching some of the Starting Over program, I can understand how to work through this book better than other self help books, or if I am actually spending the time trying to seriously consider how I live my life and how I would like to live my life, but regardless, I am finding this book very encouraging as well as challenging.

Putting all of this to practice will be the next challenge, but just looking for places in my everyday life where I am already experiencing successes or gaining confidence is helping me identify those areas where I can build upon or areas that I need to focus on or concentrate on improving.

I must say that it would be very easy in even these early pages to put the book down because Rhonda asks very difficult questions or calls you to really look deep inside yourself even if what you find is difficult to confront.

I suppose this book is not doing anything unique or surprising to those who deal with psychology as a profession or are well versed with self help books in general, but what I can attest to is that this book is to borrow a cliche, striking the right chord for me personally, which is important in that it may for you as well. If not, move on to something else. But, if it does challenge you to think about how you can change your life, then stick with it. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

5.0 out of 5 stars A masterful book that will invoke great change in its reader, March 3, 2004
As a certified Master Life Coach myself, I welcome this amazing book. It guides the reader in the process as they learn to dig deep and connect to their true self. It is one of the best self help books I have read. If you want accelerated growth, and if you want to make real change happen quickly, this book will assist you in doing that.
I have found some new skills within myself and have begun using some of these techniques in my own practice.

This is truely an amazing book that takes a better approach than most self help books and you will experience results.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rhonda does have some fresh approaches, December 12, 2005
This review is from: Change Your Life in 30 Days: A Journey to Finding Your True Self (Hardcover)
I have to disagree with the poster who said that the book is not ground breaking. And perhaps in the strictest sense of that overblown phrase, it is not. But I do like some of the fresh takes that she has on everyday life. For example...

How many weekly magazines overload us with stale advice on how to find balance in our lives? Too many to count!!!! Rhonda is probably the first speaker who is honest about this phenomenon and tells us quite frankly that we will find ourselves overloaded from time to time. Better to make commitments to yourself about what is important and let the rest fall into place rather than live the myth of a balanced life.

And again....how many magazines drone on and on about self confidence? I think Rhonda's answer was succinct....self confidence is a combination of self-compassion and a willingness to take risks and possibly fail. This will make more sense to most people than for them to try make the journey to the mythical "self confidence land" that women's magazines try to launch their readers onto.

Everyone processes information differently, but I find Rhonda's insights to be more helpful than the other self help authors who basically encourage you to smile and embrace trite truisms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Insightful Book by Rhonda, February 17, 2004
By
Martin L Wenger (Lakewood, Colorado United States) - See all my reviews
Rhonda has done it again. She is letting us into her world to help us once again master fear. This is challenging work, but once doing it and continue to do it, I know that anything is possible. It is easier to just sit back and watch life pass by, but I choose not to live that way any longer. Change is definitely challenging but worth the journey. Thanks Rhonda for another great book to help me live my dreams.

I just love this book. I first heard of Rhonda on the tv show "Starting Over." All I can say is WOW! My life has changed so much. I learn new things about myself everyday. I am no longer run by fear. I am truly filled with joy. I can now dance down the hallway with out feeling like a looser. Thank you Rhonda for giving me my life back and for teaching me how to be fearless! This book has saved my life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rhonda Britten does it again!, February 14, 2004
By
Lura Fischer (Broomfield, Colorado United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Rhonda Britten's new book is a treasure chest of glittering gems of wisdom yet practical as always! I read Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway which was very good yet theoretical for me. This new book of Ms. Britten's is truly changing my life one step at a time. Sure, it is challenging and I want to escape indefinitely into the next Vanity Fair issue, yet I am flexing muscles and building stamina to sustain a new way of living my life with intention, fearlessness and gusto. What are you doing with the next 30 days of your life?

5.0 out of 5 stars Change Your Life in 30 Days, March 22, 2007
Of all of Rhonda Britten's books this is my favorite. Each of the 30 days provides insightful information, detailed explanations of what action to take to change your life each day and real life examples of how it has worked for others. Every day builds on the previous and before you know it your life is even better than you ever dreamed possible. This book helped me to see where I was being my own worst enemy and what to do about it. This book doesn't just tell you to be confident it TEACHES you what to do to build your confidence and so much more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Move Over Dr. Phil!, April 26, 2004
By A Customer
My New Year's resolution was to change my life. I started with Dr. Phil on Dec. 31st. Between that day and April 1st, I had completed 13 days of work. Then, I found Rhonda's "Change Your Life in 30 Days....."! This book has kept me on track for 20 days in a row, and I'm already seeing my resolution becoming a reality. The biggest difference is Rhonda's ability to make you feel you are not alone. Move over Dr. Phil, there's a new coach winning the game of life!!!
