Change Your Mind: A Neurologist's Guide To Happiness by D. V. Pasupuleti MD, FACP, FAANEM (a clinical professor at Michigan State) is a self-help guide to understanding oneself intellectually, biologically, and spiritually. Written under the principle that neither science nor religion alone can hold all the answers to understanding the human condition, Change Your Mind affirms the soul's existence after death with the methodical logic of a scientist - no, the existence of an afterlife cannot be proven per se, but neither can the mystery of conscious awareness within a physical body be explained without the existence of something that transcends the limits of mere matter. A positive-minded guide focusing on self-improvement and the healing power of openness and tolerance between faiths.

* Everyone wants to be happy, this is true. The only true happiness comes from knowledge of God, and one can choose to not be miserable. All this is valid. However, there is five times as much error in this book as there is truth, minimum. At one point the author states that some will say there is nothing new in his book, and those who say that are right. His material shows up in Genesis, chapter three. Like the serpent, the author says that you have the ability to become equal to God, that you, God, and the universe are one. All religions are equal. No Christian will be "happy" at the end of this book. Perhaps some new agey type will enjoy it, but anyone committed to their religion, whether it is the truth of Christianity or one of the other recognized faiths, will be insulted to have his or her credo lumped into a pile as being just the same as any other. *
