From Library Journal
Gillett, a psychotherapist for 15 years, challenges readers to change limiting beliefs that influence behavior, moods, relationships, and perceptions. "I am not good enough," "I am trapped by my past," and "I am unattractive" are just a few of the common negative beliefs that he explores. According to Gillett, turning these thoughts around is a step-by-step process. This process does not require repeating self-affirmation statements but begins with the achievement of a state of being in which relaxation, imagination, and creativity are enhanced in order to reprogram the mind. In the last third of the book, Gillett offers his "Belief Manual," or guide, to over 30 of the most commonly held limiting beliefs and the techniques needed to change them. This book is well written and easy to read. Recommended for public libraries.
