Clint Eastwood directs Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich in a provocative thriller based on actual events: Changeling. In the film, Christine Collins' (Jolie) prayers are met when her kidnapped son is returned. But amidst the frenzy of the photo op reunion, she realizes this child is not hers. Facing corrupt police and a skeptical public, she desperately hunts for answers,only to be confronted by a truth that will change her forever.

Much like in some of his other more recent films ("Million Dollar Baby", "Gran Torino", etc.), Clint Eastwood provides most of the original material for this soundtrack, and (as usual!) does a spectacular job.

What Eastwood does is just keep the music very simple, basically just an acoustic guitar, piano, and perhaps a small orchestral group. He realizes that the story of the film is dramatic enough on its own merit, so instead of opting for a dramatic score, he just keeps to his simplistic little melodies, which turn out to be the perfect complement to whatever is happening on the screen.

It takes a remarkable director to make a film so dramatically stable that only some simple little musical pieces are needed to create a great soundtrack, but Eastwood comes through with flying colors. While recollecting memories from the film, this CD would also just be great for some easy-listening when some relaxation is needed.

Clint Eastwood is so amazing and this soundtrack is perfect for this movie. I live in Los Angeles and I recognized so much of the landscape in this movie, and the music took me back to a time here in the city of angels.

Clint Eastwood composed and directed this music. A theme melody runs through the entire soundtrack. This is a very"Dark" story line so the music fits the occasion. Eastwood should have had alot more credit for this very well done soundrack. I am glad I bought it.
