5.0 out of 5 stars The thrilling eighth book in the Sweep series.
Morgan was sure she knew the truth about her birth parents. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed
Apart from the 9th book, this was definately one of the worst books in the series. Book 7 was terrific but this book was just annoying. Firstly, The whole good-evil thing is just getting irritating. I am glad Morgan and Hunter "finally" got back together again, but I thought that Morgan wanting to kill Hunter when she was a wolf was possibly the worst storyline yet. I...

Morgan was sure she knew the truth about her birth parents. And now that the threat from Cal and his evil mother, Selene, is gone, and she's dating her soulmate, Hunter, she believes she can finally be happy. But nothing can prepare Morgan for the shocking truth. Her biological father is still alive, and is none other than Ciaran, who murdered Morgan's birth mother. Morgan knows that there's a part of her that came from Ciaran, and she fears she will fallow in her father's evil legacy. Determined not to hurt Hunter, the one she loves most in the world, she breaks up with him, and even avoids her coven, not willing to let the evil she believes is inside of her taint others. Then the International Council of Witches asks Morgan to undergo a dangerous mission. They want her to get close to Ciaran, to make him trust her - and then betray him. Is Morgan strong enough for this challenge? Is she doomed to be like Ciaran, or can she chose her own path? I really loved this newest addition to the Sweep series, especially the ending. I can't wait to read the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars *Ehhhh*, January 7, 2002

This seris is perhaps the BEST one that I have read in a LONG time. And that's pretty good, considering all the books I've read. Cate Tiernan adds twists and turns, suspense; and she twines it all through a life of a teenager, that's going through changes in Wicca as well as school and relationships with boys and best friends. I finished this book in about one hour, that's how much it pulls you in! I wished though, that it had a little bit more about the relationship between Morgan and H....for those who haven't read far enough. ^_~ Can't wait for the next book!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars WHat will happen when Morgan is tempted by evil?, February 19, 2002
Morgan wants nothing to do with Hunter or her coven anymore. Ever since she found out who her father really was she considers herself to be tainted and cursed. But when someone from the council pays her a visit she realizes that she is the only one that can possibly stop her fathers coven from committing a horrible act that will kill someone she holds near and dear. Morgan commits herself to stopping this from happening but the only way she can is to reach out to the brother she never knew, Killian. Tossing herself into a world of magic she's never felt before Morgan's dark side is tempted by the carefree lifestyle of Killian and then the evil and powerful world of her father. What will she choose to be? Good or evil?

I found this to be a very good book in the series. Once again Morgan is put to the test and has to prove herself to be a good witch. The only complaint I have with this is I'm getting a bit annoyed with Morgan's little magical "mistakes." But beyond that I was very impressed with it. I can't wait to read the 9th book in the series, Strife. I recommend this book to any fans of the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the BEST books i've read, January 2, 2002
A Kid's Review
In this book..I think that Cate Tiernan did a wonderful job making all of us feel suspense. My personal favorite parts were the parts about the aftermath of the incident that happened in book 7 at the end. I can't tell you what happened..that would ruin it..but you really need to read all of these books. I await the next book with great anticipation. GOOD JOB CATE TIERNAN!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book of the series, January 2, 2002
This book did a wonderful job of keeping the suspense real. Cate Tiernan is incredibly talented to write such a good book. I really believe that Morgan is starting to realize her power and is able to make decisions on her own. Hunter and Morgan have a few incounters after that dreadful scene in book 7, and I think that all of you devoted readers out there will definitely be happy with this new addition to the Sweep series.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant!, August 22, 2003

Morgan thinks shes poison, so she breaks up with Hunter :( and shes very sad about it. A council person comes to Morgan called Eoife (i think...) and she thinks that Ciaran (who is morgans dad) is going to send a dark wave or something to Starlocket, which is Alyces coven. Morgan has to find Ciaran and if possible stop him. Killian, who comes in to the story in the calling, also adds a little mischief too... Ciaran and morgan turn into wolves and their prey is... do you think i would spoil it?!? Just coz everyone else has.

5.0 out of 5 stars to be good or not to be good that is the guestion, September 15, 2002
Morgan is still trying to recover from every thing that happened in New York and breaking up with Hunter. But her problems only get worse. when a concil member tells Morgan that they need her help in finding her father(Ciaran) Morgan doesn't know what to do. Morgan has to ask her halfbrother Killian for help. Can Morgan help the concil? will she find her father? read this book and find out!

I loved this book! Ciaran is such a creep. But anyway it very good and I absolutely love the ending, it was so sweet.

I am glad Morgan and Hunter "finally" got back together again, but I thought that Morgan wanting to kill Hunter when she was a wolf was possibly the worst storyline yet. I love Killian he is v. cool, Ciaran also has alot of class and Eoife was also a really great character, I wish she'd stayed through book 9 instead of Erin. At one part in the book, Hunter mentioned to Morgan how he also had "struggles" between good and evil but I would have been more convinced if he'd given an example. I think that this series is overall very good, but it lacks alot of balance, everything is so dark, there's never any light.
