Changes in the Weather,
By BCauley (PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Changes in the Weather (Audio CD)
Barefoot Truth establishes themselves as a formidable jam/folk band in their debut album. The musicians are incredibly talented and each song is so unique in its sound, message, and general tone. "Changes in the Weather" and "Cinimin' Summer" both create a soothing feel and cause a mood of complete relaxation, while "Drink To You" and "Red" are faster paced, but thought-provoking. It took me a while to warm up to "Kiaya", but now it is one of my favorite songs on the CD because it tells a very interesting story. Fans of Dispatch may recognize what I assume to be a tribute to "Flying Horses" in the beginning of "Dancin' in the Trees".
This album perfectly illustrates BFT's range and musical ability and I am confident that they will continue to have success if they keep their music as honest and heartfelt as it is in Changes in the Weather. |
