5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album
Any time I'm pressed with the question, "what is a breakdown?" my answer is always very simple; "listen to For The Fallen dreams."

It's been over a year since this albums initial release and it has yet to grow old. I find it strange that this album is standing the test of time considering the fact that it offers nothing new. However, with that being said,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff
This is pretty good melodic metal-core, though very reminiscent of Misery Signals' "Mirrors." This band is pretty much Misery Signals and Emmure combined, so if you like the sound of that you should buy this disc.

However, with that being said, this album is without a doubt one of the best two step/breakdown/melodic (combo breaker) albums I have ever listened to. Each track offers excellent technical drumming and heavy guitar work. And as previously mentioned, the breakdowns are amazing.

This is one of those albums that is super easy to listen to all the way through. Each track is unique in its own way.

The greatest strength of this album would have to be the combination of heavy drumming mixed with melodic lead guitar. FTFD do this exceptionally well. Especially on tracks "Last Dying Breath" and the epic instrumental "Changes."

This album will always be a favorite, highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album, October 24, 2008

Just downloaded this album and man it's really really great stuff. If you like Mychildren Mybride or any other hardcore band like Haste the Day or As I lay Dying; your going to love these guys. They have a hardcore sound with a strange melodic guitar that flows really really damn good. Get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brutal+Melodic=Greatness, January 8, 2011
This review is from: Changes (Audio CD)
I read all the reviews on this cd and i had to write my own. Now,some i agree with.for starters,Yes,For the Fallen Dreams offer nothing new to the Metalcore scene. But,What they do have that stands out for them is the fact that while not just crafting some of the most heaviest and brutal breakdowns, two steps and mosh parts around, they add melodic guitars to the mix.And that my friends, adds so much depth to a scene filled with the same kind of formula being used over and over again. The vocals, which i love, are reminiscent to a tough-guy in your face style which works so well, and it compliments the melodic parts as well.theres no singing over the melodics as well, which i think works.singing would have ruined these guys in my opinion.Someone mentioned that these guys sound like "Misery Signals" mixed with "Emmure".WHAT???.Not true. For The Fallen Dreams bring their own unique style to the genre.Sadly, this will be their best album ever written because their recent release"relentless" Features Singing over the melodics,A sound that sounds so trendy and overplayed and the loss of their original front-man from "Changes"."Changes" in my opinion, stands as one of the best mixes of Brutalness and Melody, and one of my favorite cds ever written by a heavy band.If your bored with the same old rinse and repeat type bands out there, give "changes" a listen, and see why this cd is literally,a work of art.

5.0 out of 5 stars for fans of misery signals, January 19, 2008
This review is from: Changes (Audio CD)
these guys are pretty much misery signals ripoffs with bury your dead vocals. but they are really good, and packed with melody. if you like melodic guitarwork in your metal, this is for you

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok- just ok, May 11, 2008
This review is from: Changes (Audio CD)
This Cd is just ok. It sounds like every other metal band out there. I wish people would step up and start making new stuff. I hate it when songs slow down- Remembering Never is famous for that. By the way, Remembering Never sucks so much....
