5.0 out of 5 stars fun ways to decorate with these
When setting our dinner table with porcelain coffee cups, one of these little battery operated tea lights
in each empty cup will create a little magic! Just dim your room lights, and the whole table will be awash in
colors... this was a real "WOW" moment last holiday, as everyone entered the dining room. What a fun thing for any special dinner, or special...

2.0 out of 5 stars Strobe light or tea light?
These were totally disappointing. The light rotates once through the colors at about one second per each color, and then all of the sudden it blinks like a strobe light through the colors again super fast. Then it goes through the cycle again. This sucks. Not a natural flicker or gradual transition through the colors at all. Makes for a very random and disrupting...

Another fun thing to do with these is to set them in a glass vase full of clear glass marbles. Just set the tea light in, upside down, and place it shallow, so you can just move one or two marbles to turn it on and off easily, and it shines the light downward into all the glass marbles... Looks really cool in a dimly lit room...

5.0 out of 5 stars TOTALLY AWESOME!, January 21, 2010

If you love playing with candles and flickering battery powered tealights you will love these. These color changing tealights don't flicker like flames. Instead they slowly fade from color to color every 3-4 seconds. There are about 7 different colors that it cycles through such as pink, purple, blue, green, red, yellow and orange... all of which are soft and not sharp or annoying to look at. Again, these don't "flicker" like other flameless candles and to be honest they don't really look like candles to me. These little tealights are great for parties, holidays, or just to decorate your home. Don't let the color changing limit you as I have mine out year round. Overall these are very pleasant, relaxing, and a definite conversation piece.

Truly beautiful colors that add a lovely ambiance to any decor. I love the suggested uses in the product pictures--that's exactly how I use most of mine! I recommend Darice lustre gems (also available on Amazon) for filling the containers you place the candles in--they do a wonderful job of refracting the colored light.

Another excellent way to showcase them is to place them in frosted glass containers (that are taller than the candles) that diffuse the light and create a soft and colorful glow.

Yet another is to place them behind/beneath faceted crystal objects, such as decanters, that will magnify and refract the light.

3.0 out of 5 stars Color changing tea lights, November 21, 2011

Really like the color changing tea lights. Out of the 12 only one would not work. I was OK with that but when I went to change the battery as I bought them together with the batteries and it is the wrong battery. It is shown as what I considered a go-together set as I clicked one button to buy both the tea lights and the batteries. The tea lights take 3 smaller batteries not the one larger item. I thought that was kind of deceptive. The battery in the tea light shows LR44.

My wife and I agree the almost random flashing of the lights are not desirable. Each color lights for several seconds, then the light flashes (blinks) quickly for several seconds. Wish we would not have purchased. If it did not go into fast blinking mode, all would be great. There are no switches to change the mode.

They look great, especially in a clear container.
But, they tend to go to red most often. And once the batteries get weak, they don't work well.
But, they're a neat little candle and I've gotten a lot of compliments.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not designed for any type of ambient/mood lighting, January 14, 2012
By

This review is from: Color Changing Everlasting Tealights Candles with 7 Rainbow Colors- Set of 12
As usual, the shopping/ordering/shipping/delivery experience at Amazon is immaculate. This was no different for this order. Had read some reviews prior to placing the order and had expected this product to be more of an accessory for ambient lighting. For the price ($9.70) there is absolutely nothing wrong with the product, you get what you pay for. However the speed with which the lights change color is too fast (~2 seconds) and with a horrible fade over...this creates more of a 70's style disco experience rather then an ambient/mood light experience. At specific intervals, the lights also blink once (rapidly) for every available color...which becomes more psychedelic than anything else.

So I would surely recommend this product for a party setting or if you want to accentuate something for a really brief moment...Leaving these lights on in e.g. your bedroom, living room will most likely annoy, distract and/or upset you.

For the seller, I would recommend to make the product description a bit clearer...especially around the speed with which the lights change and the blink pattern. Or perhaps post a product video.
