5.0 out of 5 stars Give the books a chance...
I thought that this book was great. I loved hearing about the "saddle club's" relationship. I like how they all go in a series- unlike the much shorter saddle club books. The book is nicely written and can hoold your intrest- one tip, most on-line reviews say the book stinks- if you read that and believe it and then start reading the book with that in mind...

In this book, Lisa is still in California, trying to make up her mind whether to return. Back home, Stevie is dealing with Callie's brother's anger, as she was driving the night of the accident. I thought that this book was great. I loved hearing about the "saddle club's" relationship. I like how they all go in a series- unlike the much shorter saddle club books. The book is nicely written and can hoold your intrest- one tip, most on-line reviews say the book stinks- if you read that and believe it and then start reading the book with that in mind then the book really is gong to stink. Go into it w/an open mine- and you'll find its really a good book. They did have a lot of horses, just more "movie-star horses" than Pine Hollow ones. I liked it cause I wanted to see what Lisa's life was like and if it makes a big deal out of the next books (which it does) then it helps knowing what it was really like there. These books are great- your not in suppense about what happened over the month missed between books in the saddle club (though some are less than a month) these books skip a couple of days, sometimes not even a day (like between #'s 1-2). Keep writing these books, Bryant- your doing a great job.

5.0 out of 5 stars ... AN INTERESTING POINT, April 23, 1999

hmmm...I've been reading the saddle club for a while, and I like their happy endings, but I aslo like Pine Hollow, which I recently started reading. The only problem is that in this book Carole,Stevie,&Lisa seem to worry about their problems in their heads, they would never talk 2 eachother, & in the end they all solve their problems with not much help from eachother. I think they'd all be better off if they'd just tell eachother what they were thinking instead of beating around the bush all the time...Come on B.B. what happened to those 3 girls who could tell eachother ANYTHING (even if it meant hurting eachothers feelings a little) I think if they did this, they would all benefit...It would be nice to see a good trail ride/saddle club meeting where the 3 girls can talk to eachother about everything that's been goin on...just like old times...=)

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, February 16, 1999

I've really been enjoying this series. Being 18, the Saddle Club books were getting too short for me, and this new series is really great! Each book catches up more and more with everything we are familiar with about the Saddle Club. The characters really have matured. I can't wait to see what's up with Prancer. I suspect she's being bred? And it's interesting seeing Lisa try to work things out with Callie. I'm glad things are improving with Stevie! And I hope Carole and Ben get a clue to each other soon! :) I never would have imagined Lisa's parents divorcing, but it's yet another realistic aspect to add to the girl's lives. If anyone else is a big fan of this series, drop me a line. I'd love to start a discussion list, or something, about the new direction the Saddle Club has taken.

5.0 out of 5 stars An AWESOME book!, February 20, 2000
This review is from: Changing Leads (Pine Hollow No. 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was very well written. Scott still won't forgive Stevie for the car crash, but Stevie really wants him to. She gets upset with Phil, because he is spending so much time with Scott. Carol is so busy training Samson that she hardly has time for Starlight. Lisa feel pretty left out, because over the summer Carol and Stevie got to be very close to Callie. I really like that this book included more about Stevie and Phil than Lisa and Alex. I hope it stays that way! I believe that this series is a hundred times better than the Saddle Club. Since I am 14 Pine Hollow seems more realistic while the Saddle Club seems reather unbelieveable. If you are reading Bonnie Bryant, I want you to know I am sooooooooooo glad that you started the Pine Hollow series! PINE HOLLOW RULES!

5.0 out of 5 stars I really liked this book, August 6, 1999
This review is from: Changing Leads (Pine Hollow No. 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this book, because a lot of it was based around Stevie (who is my fav. character) and she's got such a funny, awesome attitude. and even in a book i read, carole and lisa admit thats what they like est about stevie, that she doesnt get mad easily. is it just me, or do carole in lisa get in fights about stupid stuff. Ecspecially in the #6 Pine hollow book. i think they just need to take a chill pill. but, mrs. bryant, i want oyu to know if your reading this, that I LOVE the saddle club books, your my favorite author and you need to keep putting your thoughts on paper! thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy Times, February 19, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Changing Leads (Pine Hollow No. 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
With time ticking everyone has prolems, Stevie does not want to fail chemistry due to her lack of friendship with Callie's brother, Scott, Lisa does not feel as if she fits in with Callie and feels awkward whenever she is around her, Callie is trying to get over a physical setback after a riding inncident, Carole feels great but is making more time for an unexpected guest than the amount of time she is spending with Starlight, the problem is, will all of these problems geet solved? The only ways you can figure out is if you read this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Book, June 30, 2000
This review is from: Changing Leads (Pine Hollow No. 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
I thought this book was really great. Though I can say that other books in the series are better! Since in the books they talk about what has happened in past books, it would be best if you read books 1-3 first so that you know what is going on.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story line, but no horses. :(, May 20, 1999

This review is from: Changing Leads (Pine Hollow No. 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
I enjoyed reading the book. It's neat to know how Stevie, Carole, and Lisa are when their older. I wish it would be a bit more about horeses though. I especially love it when the kids from Pine Hollow would go to horse shows. I hope that in the future, the saddle club will continue to ride horses during college and make a living out of it. Keep up the good job writing and please continue with the saddle club and pine hollow books. ~Elsa
