Book Description

Changing My Wardrobe is a tragic high school drama about starting over, fitting in, and discovering the truth about what really matters. It's a story about friendship, first love, and soul crushing loss. It's a story about a person's choices, good and bad, and the unexpected and far-reaching consequences of those choices.

Lindsey's first day of high school is her big chance to start over. With the help of her best friend, Teeny, she begins her transformation by changing her wardrobe. But her longtime nemesis, Avery, likes things just the way they are and sabotages Lindsey at every turn. As the school year progresses, lines are drawn; sides are picked, and war ensues. The escalating drama eventually leads to a tragic event that will alter the teens' lives forever...especially Lindsey's.

3.0 out of 5 stars A great take on bullying! October 21, 2011
Format:Paperback
I knew before reading this book that it would be something that I wanted to share with my younger sisters. Even though I had a few issues with this book, for the most part, the main story line was great and something that needs to be covered more in YA books.

First I will start off with what I didn't like about this book, the main character and the dialogue between the characters. As much as I had in common with the main character Lindsey, I found her extremely hard to connect with. I was part of National Honor Society, I am the older sister, I have had crushes, and I have had moments where I just wanted, needed a change. It would make an incredible amount of sense if I could connect and feel something towards this character, however, there was something about her that didn't sit well with me. She is meant to come off as a smart girl with a good head on her shoulders, which she totally is but her personality felt completely flat. Her thoughts, feelings, and even the conversations she had with other characters was just lacking something. She obviously loved her friend, Teeny dearly (and I did too but I will get to that in a moment) but the thoughts she had about other characters seemed harsh and rather snotty. When she thought about her oddball friend, Jocelyn, I couldn't believe how resentful she was! So without the connection of the main character, it was hard to truly LOVE this story. Also, the dialogue between the characters was a bit awkward. Most of it flowed nicely but some of what they said to each other kind of made me scratch my head in confusion. The dialogue wasn't terrible, I have definitely read much worse, but it just didn't seem all that genuine. Even those I had these few issues with the book, there were a few positives that I really liked!

2.0 out of 5 stars UGGH! November 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I am not a spoiler, but: WARNING! When they say soul-crunching loss, they really mean WORST ENDING EVER! I was actually enjoying this book, and then the ending came. It was not a pleasant ending at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent April 22, 2014
By EMorris
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is extrordinary. It made me cry, as all good books should. However, it's not a good book for immature audiences, as they will not appreciate how well the book is written. Also there are some older consepts.

Over all, DEFFINITELY read this book (It's probably one of my all time favorites). Beautifully sad and happy. Love it.

The title itself makes you think that it's about some girl deciding to become popular, bla bla bla. However it is not, and is an amazing book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Finish It
I only got to 18% and could go no further. The main character was extremely annoying and immature. She sounds and acts like a sixth grader rather than a high school freshman.

I chose this book because of the cover, I so glad I did. It reminded me of my years as the normal kid in school and all the craziness that goes with it.
