Nice music, Annie Lennox song not included..., January 1, 2003
This review is from: Changing Lanes [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack] (Audio CD)
Nice background music, although the soundtrack is short and does not include the end credit song by Annie Lennox ("Waiting in Vain"). If you're primarily interested the Annie Lennox song, it can be found in her Medusa album - available used on Amazon.com for under $5.00.

Great soundtrack, May 12, 2002

This review is from: Changing Lanes [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack] (Audio CD)
While watching the movie on the big screen, I remember saying how... infectious the score had been. However... I have but two regrets: The disc was cheated by the lack of Annie Lennox's closing song; and two: The disc is only a modest 39 minutes in comparison to a two-hour film. This soundtrack possesses great perks. It's WONDERFUL background music. I'm looking forward for Mr. Arnold's future work. He's got it in him....

Refreshing, February 16, 2003
This review is from: Changing Lanes [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack] (Audio CD)
Most people purchase pop music; I purchase film score soundtracks. Arnold's score captivated me upon first watching the actual film "Changing Lanes," particularly the opening theme, with its electronic minor chord motifs surrounded by heavy techno-percussive rhythms. I found this CD interesting in its format as well, as the songs are really just one long track split up as if they were chapters of a DVD. Because the sound volume varies quite a bit from track to track, it may be difficult to listen to this CD while concentrating on something else, such as homework, and hence, the four- star rating instead of five- occurs. However, if you could care less about homework, like me, and actually plan to listen to this CD fully at any one sitting, than this CD is more of a "CD nouveau," worthy of five stars. Truly innovative.

"Arnold brings heavy traffic in programming score", May 6, 2002
This review is from: Changing Lanes [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack] (Audio CD)
Composer David Arnold brings driving skills into the picture of "Changing Lanes", the new flick starring Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson (one of my favorite and busiest actors in the business). All of the score is presented in one long (39:50) track (however, my player shows 26 tracks), takes you into the story-line with accurate accounts of today's I don't give a care attitude about your driving skills. Believe Arnold's score gives the film character, but not a four or five star rating listen for "film-score-buffs", who look for more than just keyboards, guitars, bass and additional programming for inspiration. My grade for this is ~ three and a half (3 1/2) stars. This is good, but not better or best. Total Time: 39:48 on 26 Tracks ~ Varese Sarabande 302-066-353-2 ~ (2002)
