I wanted to like this book, but I felt that it had far too many flaws. The characters were utterly flat. Flat is a literary term essentially meaning one dimensional. The heroine in addition to being nonsensically crafted did not seem to have any redeeming qualities. The writing is subpar at best with the author dropping such trite descriptive phrases as "Her insides screamed for her to say yes." or "Her face flamed with embarrassment."

She is a successful business woman who does not set her alarm clock. She curses and too obviously ogles men in elevators. She also uses the word c**t to describe her vagina and admits that she is quick to negatively judge people.

The male love interest isn't much better. Even though he has spent YEARS as the un-named city's most eligible bachelor he has just realized that he has been prone to dating 'shallow, self-serving women'. After offering Sasha a job he begins a blatant flirtation. These characters are foolishly constructed without much attention given to the very real workplace where women and men do not actively seek sexual harassment lawsuits.

Changing the rules was a quick read for me. I sat down and couldn't put it down. Ms. Lynn made the entire story very believeable and the rules even had me tangled up. If you like stories with uptight heroines who finally let their hair down and enjoy life, then you'll like this book. 5 thumbs way up and good job.

The storyline was okay... it could have used a little more excitement though. My biggest complaint was there was too much "author" talk and not enough "character" talk. I enjoy books that have a lot of character dialogue and this on definately did not, hence the 3 stars. I also could've done without the long, drawn out, pages detaling Sasha's masturbation. Too much info about that! But overall, it was an okay book.

I agree with the review Kribby wrote. I really wanted to like this book too. I mean the characters were there but as a reader there was a disconnect with regards to feeling anything for the characters. As for Sasha's rules, the only one that made any sense was to not date in the workplace. That I understood for obvious reasons. As for Dylan, how did he become a CEO if can't restrain himself enough to not break the law in an interview? I just do not believable that intelligent people would behave this way. It was not my cup of tea.

I must admit that it started off slow. At the beginning I didn't think that I would like the book very well. As I continued to read I became more and more interested. I couldn't put it down. Sasha was in her own way of happiness and once she removed herself she got everything she wanted!!! Great read!
