One of the finest voices of the contemporary folk scene is back. Here is Ane Brun´s third
album Changing of the Seasons . It was recorded more or less live at the legendary Atlantis Studio in Stockholm, and at producer Valgeir Sigurdsson´s studio, the Greenhouse, in
Reykjavik, Iceland. Sigurdsson´s merits include artists like Björk, Sigur Ros, Maps, Múm, Coco Rosie and Bonnie Prince Billy.

Changing of the Seasons consists of 13 new tracks by Ane Brun. The album shows that Ane
´s mesmerizing voice has taken new and exciting turns, and it also reveals many proofs of her remarkable songwriting. Just listen to tracks like The Puzzle , Ten Seconds , Lullaby for Grown-Ups , The Fall or Don´t Leave and you´ll know that this is something close to a classic album.

The beautiful string arrangements are written by Danish composer Malene Bay-Landin and
the young and successful American composer Nico Muhly (who has worked with artists such
as Bonnie Prince Billy and Antony & the Johnsons).

In only a few years Ane Brun has established herself as an international songwriter and
liveartist. She has toured around the world, is about to release her fifth album and has
achieved music awards and platinum records. And all of this through her own label
DetErMine Records in Stockholm, Sweden.

Ane Brun was in her mid twenties when she released her first album Spending time with
Morgan . It was made while finishing her University studies in Stockholm. Soon there was no more time for studies. It didn t take long before Ane and her small independent record label were licencing records all over the world. And soon she became a full-time touring- and
recording artist. If someone had told her a few years ago that she was going to tour the world
with her own music, she would laugh in your face and not even consider it a possibility.

But still, two years after the debut, Ane Brun released her follow-up album A Temporary
Dive , co-produced by Katharina Nuttall. The album included songs such as Balloon
Ranger , Rubber & Soul , This Voice , My Lover will go and To Let Myself Go .
She also had the honour of recording duets with the acclaimed artists Ron Sexsmith and Teitur
and soon released a collection of 10 songs called Duets.

I just love this woman. Everything she's done is superb, and this album dosen't disapoint. I love every song! I put the album on repeat and lay on my bed with the lyrics and listened until I knew the words. Ane Brun deserves to be so much more well know, but secretly i love thinking she's all mine.

First heard Ane Brun when her cover of True Colours was used in a TV advertisement. Took ages to find out about her.

This is a great album - every song is beautiful. Hope she has a lot more success.

It is a shame that in the modern world there is so much good music that passes you by - had it not been for a cinema advertisement I would never have come across Ane. Whilst life may be complete by ignorance of the existence of such a good artist, it is more pleasant being able to listen to Ane sing. She reminds me of lesser known artists that for some reason the world ignores, maybe that is what makes her so good - that the mashed out relentless 'pop' machine fails to notice real talent. It happened to other greats like Jo Ann Kelly.

Perhaps above all, it makes those who do listen and like selective and free thinking, able to make their own minds up.

The greater pity is the exploitation of the record companies who slightly alter the composition of CD's for different markets. I particularly wanted the track 'True Colours' and had to search for a USA source to find it. Doing so is reward itself.
