How the Elkdog change their life,
This review is from: Changing Wind (The Spanish Bit Saga, Super Edition) (Paperback)
This was the first book by Don Coldsmith that I readed. I found that this book was great reading. At the start of the book a young White Buffio had a vision of the coming of the horse,{Elkdog}. though his wisdom he lead his people to befreind a spanard whom they called Headsoff. A must read for anyone whom is interested in the North American Native way of life. This and his other book in the series of the Spanish Bit Saga

Although, I didn't remember the title of the book, since it has been 20 years ago & with young eyes that I read this book, I did remember the gist of this book & after much searching on the INET, I found this.
First of all, it was, in my feeble mind, 20 years ago, a great book. When Dances with Wolves came out, I couldn't help but think of the striking similiarities of this book & the movie(even the original, Blakes "Wolves" where Comanche, just like Coldsmiths). So, here's what I'm debating, should I buy this book & rereview it, with a fresh new perspective? Or should I just leave it, as is, an old, fond memory? This book did spurn me to read more & more 'bout Native American history! After reading this, I picked up Terry C. Johnstons books, one Louis L'Amour book ('bout a Comanche US Airforce pilot of all things!) & Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee, & a whole lot more! (In The Spirit of Crazy Horse...etc.etc) So that just begs the question, should I leave it an old fond memory or read it afresh, & find it to be not worth reading?

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Changing Wind (Mass Market Paperback)
This is an older paperback that was actually recommended by Amazon and fits into a genre that I am reading right now, historical and prehistoric fiction. I will read more of this author. I find him pleasant and laid back and his prose is perfect. His take on the life of the period is detailed and interesting. I am also glad that there is a good sized list for the Spanish Saga Series. I feel like I have discovered a forgotten treasure.
