Book Description

April 2005
Find Out How Kindness Can Change the World. When you think of spiritual warfare, what comes to mind? Stressed-out saints duking it out with demons? Mystical believers seeing things most of us can't? According to author Steve Sjogren, not only are those images inaccurate but they also keep most of us from gaining the spiritual victories God wants us to enjoy. Changing the World Through Kindness shows how every believer can fight the powers of darkness through the greater power of kindness. Using real-life stories to illustrate effective principles from the Word of God, Sjogren shows readers step-by-step how to live a life that will change them, their families, their neighborhoods and their churches and eventually the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, Something We Can DO!, April 20, 2006
By
Scott Bane (Northwest Indiana) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Changing the World Through Kindness (Hardcover)
This is the first book I've ever read (or heard of) on spiritual warfare that actually equips the reader with practical tools. I learned so much about the power I wield as a follower of Jesus in the first few chapters! I'm not new to this subject. I've read several books that have only left me feeling inferior and not "spiritual enough" to make any real impact against the powers of darkness. Now that I've read "Changing the World Through Kindness," I can hardly believe I ever felt that way.

If you want to better understand your power through the Spirit, you've got to read this book. It will equip you to walk in the authority that God has designed for you.

This is an excellent, thought-provoking, challenging read to really think about how each one of us can change the world around us by showing kindness as God shows kindness to each of us!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Completely Seminal Book on Taking on Spiritual Powers..., February 13, 2006
This review is from: Changing the World Through Kindness (Hardcover)
In the course of leading growing churches over the years in various places in the US and Europe I have discovered that when one starts a church spiritual powers are bound to resist our efforts to bring the kingdom of God and of light.

I have read many books over the past 20+ years about various people's best guesses as to how to most effectively take on the powers of darkness. These approaches have tended to be 1. Mostly weird, 2. Very theoretical - difficult to evaluate if anything actually is taking place in response to our efforts at seeing these things back down or go away - we are usually encourage to take it by faith that things have just gotten better 3. These approaches are always vertical. Jesus didn't do very many vertical things - he loved people, therefore he was a practical person with all of his contacts with people.

This book is loaded with stories that have come out of serving people over many years of doing practical acts of kindness that amount to a form of doing spiritual warfare but at an understandable way instead an etherial, odd, impossible to explain sort of way.

If you are tired of the rigamaroll approaches to doing damage to powers of darkness -- this might well be your next step. Not only is this book fun to read, it is loaded with practical, easy to apply ideas - I can assure you from years of practice and thousands of people touched - this stuff really works!
