Poor sound quality when recording the noise floor showed minus 30db in the left channel and minus 41db in the right channel. A quality sound card should have at least minus 80db to minus 90db noise floor or lower. The wave form editor I was using for testing was Sony Sound Forge. I also tested it with Cool Edit Pro and had the same results. If you need a good USB sound card for recording that performs well stay with Creative Labs or Turtle Beach. One positive note the seller Miriam Holdings did refund my money.

i asked HDE whether this product has the problem of only supporting only 2 channels on its optical out, and was told of such problem was not known.
after purchasing, this product is of completely no use to me as i still cant get 5.1 to my home theatre from laptop.
the 5.1 is only available thru the 3.5mm RCA jacks but not the optical while my home theatre only accepts optical in...

First off, the thing that shocked me most was that there was no real brand tied to this product. The CD that came with it didn't work, and I ended up just using windows update to install the drivers for it. Worked about 97% of the time, with a few bugs and glitches, but has been perfect for the past few months. Love playing games with this and turning around at that last moment to shoot the guy sneaking up on me. :]

Software is a pain to load, it takes over 20 mins for program to open, locks up comp. until is does open, no fix or software update & you may have to play with speaker wires to get them to work correctly.

Bought this to hook up to my laptop which only has stereo sound. It seemed like a good idea but if you're looking for an external USB sound card this is not what you want. You're going to get what you pay for in these type of products and this item is utter crap.

I purchase this card for my desktop replacement laptop and so far, it does the job well. Shipping took a little while but i guess thats why they added a key-ring light to the package. satisfied....no problems.
