If you want quality tools that are made right here then look no further. They fit comfortably in my hand, nice blue grip, good weight displacement, anti-corrosion coating and they get the job done. Oh did I mention that they are made in the United States of America!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love these pliers, and they're definitely amongst my favorite.

I have to disagree with the other reviewer about V-jaw. I also own the 10" non-V-jaw model (430), and for plumbing, I prefer V-jaw, but for most other things I usually reach for the other, flat (model 430) pair. Either way it's great to have them both.

Of the many different sized Channellocks, I think the 10" model is most useful in a variety of situations. Love that the jaws open all the way to a staggering 2-inch capacity, and the handles have terrific leverage.

Remember that when using these on stock or a nut/bolt, there is a correct way to turn it, just like with a pipe wrench. The correct way is self-tightening, and requires very little gripstrength; the wrong way requires a very strong grip for the teeth to not slip.

Finally, there are many other tongue-and-groove-style pliers on the market, some of which are much cheaper, others which are made by descent companies (e.g. Irwin), but IMO these are far superior to the imitators.

For the large number of tasks one uses a plier for, a v jaw helps clench tighter and prevents damage. I find myself reaching for it more than my other pliers and it is a simple difference with a great benefit. Now on to the fact that it's a Channellock and immediately shows it's manufacturing quality is a testament to American made tools. Amazon is great since they routinely drop their prices on certain Channellock tools, so keep them in your cart until it decreases in price.
