I use these in avation, this is m third pair in ten years. These never wear out, they just get used so much (borrowed) they go missing. They are a little more expensive than the cheapo crapsman or chinese brands, but they hold up and cut cotter pins, safety wire, etc very well. I have tried about every type of 5 inch diagonal cutters aout there and these are the best.

This is the second set of 6-inch Channellock diagonals that I am buying from Amazon. I also have nearly every size and type of pliers made by Channellock.

Ignore the bad review on this item. ALL of my Channellock tools are top quality - perfectly machined and aligned. It's true that the joint on these diagonal cutters is a little snug, meaning they don't flop open easily, but that's because you have to break them in. Unless you're a 12-year-old girl, you should have no problem opening these pliers with one hand.

Channellock tools are expensive because they last FOREVER. So why am I buying these pliers for the second time? I let someone borrow them and I never saw them again. Evidently, that person was impressed with these cutters as well.

Channellock is a great brand. I have purchased many tools from them. They last forever and never wear out. I even use my giant channellocks as a hammer and they take the beating with pleasure. I've had all the other brands which i normally loose but anything that is channellock I make sure i never let it out of my sight.

Actually miserable quality. These U.S. made side-cutter pliers take two hands to open and the cutting edges do not mate. I wrote a courteous letter to Channelock and received no reply. That being the case, I would stay away from the brand completely, as there is no customer support.
