You know the diagonal cutting pliers cut but if you have ever used diagonal pliers to pull out nails or staples you will quickly notice the difference the between the straight and curved cutters. The curved ones are a definate must have tool. It makes jobs involving removing staples and nails so much easier. If you need diagonal cutting pliers you should buy the curved ones. These are an excellent choice since they are Channellock Pliers. They're guaranteed too!!

These cut better than the Channellock Nippers which I have which are slightly larger. If you are trying to choose between the two, I would recommend these first, even though I think the Nippers are very good.

I also agree with Brian C.'s comments about curved diagonal pliers viv-a-vis straight ones. Much better to buy the curved ones.

This diagonal cutter does a great job at cutting wires and removing fasteners. I use it to pull finish nails and staples on my remodeling jobs. It also works great at cutting wires when I am doing electrical work. It is a must have tool for a remodeler.

Update 09-04-2013: My Channellock 447 Curved Jaw Diagonal Cutting Plier is still going strong. It is one of the most used tool in my handyman tool bucket. It is a bit duller than it was when new but still does the job. If I lost it, I would buy the same one to replace it.

The longer, curved jaw makes these cutters more versatile than the traditional straight pair. A good addition to anyone's toolbox if they don't have one already.

The same thing happen to my 447 pliers. I just bought them 2 weeks ago. I took them to work this week and all I remember was using them to cut some 12 AWG copper electrical wire. I did not drop them or miss treat them. By the end of the day. I pull all my tools out from my pouch to wipe and lubricate like I do all my tools that I use everyday and I notice that the tip was chipped. It must be a product problem. I`ll be sending them to Channellock for inspection and see if they qualify for a replacement.

I just bought them 2 weeks ago. I took them to work this week and all I remember was using them to cut some 12 AWG copper electrical wire for a few times in a hard to get electrical box Where only a Diagonal cutting plier could do the job with out cutting into other wires.. I`m a full time Electrician working 6 days a week out of town. My other co workers friends have had their Klein Diagonal cutting pliers for years and have not had a problem. In my opinion. This 447 model of channellock pliers are not made to handle the challenges that they are built for. I love Channellock products. All my other channellock tools are fine and have worked great for years. But I hate to say that. I am going to put this 447 model on my house repair tool box and go with Klein for my full time job on this one.

I was disappointed with this product. I bought the same Channellock cutters about twenty years ago and they're still in great shape. I ordered a second pair and received them recently. Within a month the cutter tip chipped. They weren't being used improperly.

For a wire cutter, staple remover & etc., this tool can't be beat in the long run. There are cheaper cutters; but only one brand is a Channellock. The curved jaw helps to pull out staples a lot easier by using a rocking motion.

A coworker turned me on to this plier. It is excellent for pulling out staples and nails. Because of its curved design it provides excellent leverage. It's able to pull out nails in tight quarters where other tools won't reach.
