5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT TOOL, November 28, 2007
This wrench has an amazingly big mouth. It opens wide as a small Ford wrench [monkey]. Nice tight jaw and good quality steel well plated / coated. Will last you forever if you don't loose it. The first thing I did was cut off the rubber handle thing and it looks fine underneath just like a real wrench. One thing is the jaws are a bit pointy so if you are carrying it in your pocket do it handle down or get some fashionable holes. Anyway I have worked on ships for 20 years and have used about everything, So I kinda know some tools. I RECOMMEND this tool and hope they come out with a 6 inch of the same design because the current 6 inch Channel lock wrench is kinda lame.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best adjustable wrench., March 23, 2010

Save yourself some money and buy this adjustable wrench before you buy any other wrenches. I bought this on sale to replace a cheap 8" wrench. It has replaced my 6 inch, 8 inch and 10 inch versions. The jaws are extra wide, wider than my Kobalt 10", and has very little play while turning. I cut off the blue and red plastic/rubber handle, but other people might want to keep it.

Only two caveats. First, make sure that you get model #8WCB. There are other "Code Blue" wrenches that don't have wider jaws. Second, this wrench is made is Spain. I'd prefer one manufactured in the USA.

5.0 out of 5 stars great product for a mechanics "pocket" toolbox, February 13, 2008
This adjustable wrench has all the size advantages of an 8", including the narrow jaws, but also has the capacity of a much larger adjustable. My 12" channellock adjustable doesn't even open as wide. I use this tool every day in my job and it is nearly perfect. The only problem I would change would be to make the handle covering a little bit thinner.

5.0 out of 5 stars all you need, November 29, 2010
This review is from: Channellock #8WCB 8"ADJ 1-1/2" Cap Wrench (Misc.)
I use this constantly at work. I am and airline mechanic and this is my go-to tool for large hydraulic fittings. I usually would not trust an adjustable wrench in these situations but this tool is so precise and tight that its perfect. My favorite things are the wide, yet slender jaws. I can use it on the largest bolts but it is still thin enough to use on a double nut situation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extra wide Channellock, December 28, 2009

This review is from: Channellock #8WCB 8"ADJ 1-1/2" Cap Wrench (Misc.)
This wrench is perfect for those tight spaces where you need to get to a bigger nut. I also like the 4 splines on the wheel rather than the 3 of my craftsman wrenches. Channellock came up with a great product. I use this multiple times a week. There is little play in the jaw and the blue grip is comfortable.

5.0 out of 5 stars wide, September 4, 2009
This review is from: Channellock #8WCB 8"ADJ 1-1/2" Cap Wrench (Misc.)
The jaws open wide, and are comparable to a thin style wrench. The thumb wheel spins almost too easily, which could cause it to come off adjustment. I used it today for the first time and it performed flawlessly. I have yet to decide if I'm going to cut off the plastic handle. Great concept.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best wrench I own., August 17, 2009
This review is from: Channellock #8WCB 8"ADJ 1-1/2" Cap Wrench (Misc.)
I've used Crescent wrenches for as long as I can remember, but I think I might be sold on this Channel Lock wrench. It's well made, has almost no play whatsoever, and compact! I primarily I use this wrench to work on bicycles. The compact size, narrow taper, and wide opening makes it ideal for working with smaller parts and accommodating parts such as a headset. I did a bit of research on this wrench after I bought it. It is actually a rebranded Irega model from Spain, which is drop forged and highly regarded in Europe. Irega makes this wrench in 6" and 12" models as well, so if you like this wrench and are looking for a larger or smaller size, Irega is the name you need to search for. Beware, the Irega models, while identical to the Channel Lock, usually carry a premium ($6-10 in my experience) over the Channel Lock brand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really great tool, February 28, 2008

Really great tool. Love the wide opening jaws. I had to carry a 12" Stanley wide jaw to do some of the things at work. Now I can carry an 8" and do the same job. Lots easier to crawl around over and under equipment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't get any better, January 20, 2012

This is one awesome wrench, an 8 inch wrench that opens 1.5" --in reality it actually opens larger, more like 1.7" (1 & 11/16") I wish they didn't even both making the small mouth wrenches. This wrench is great because you no longer have to haul around a giant 10" or 12" wrench for the occasional large nut (unless you need the leverage).

I see that a lot of reviewers are removing the rubber grip. I actually prefer working with it; It gives the wrench more to grab onto.

This would make a great gift for any guy, you can never have too many wrenches and this wrench is better than any other 8" wrench out there. BUY IT!
