better crimper,

As all Channellock tools are, these are very good quality. I like the fact that the crimping area is slightly wider than other crimpers making for, I believe, a stronger crimp.

As all other Channellock tools that I have, this is a solid piece. The crimping and cutting edge were made with high degree of precision. The non-insolated crimping tooth looks well engineered. In comparison with the Klein J1005 model (Amazon seles for $28), the claws of this 909 is slightly wider and thicker than the J1005's. I guess this is to ensure the roubust work load, while the J1005 uses an extra shoulder on the outside of each claw to achieve the same. I believe that the J1005 might be slightly better engineered. Either one is way superior than those made in China or India. Enjoy it and be proud of "Made in USA".

I am very happy with these crimpers! They are long and heavy but very gentle. I'm crimping mostly 10-18 gauge wire into insulated, heat-shrink terminals. I was surprised at how well they worked with even the 18 gauge terminals.
As an added bonus, they are MADE IN THE USA !! I'm happy to support an American company putting my neighbors to work producing an excellent product!

Good quality tool. Does a nice job. Long handles give very good leverage. It's the only wire crimper for basic terminal crimping I use now, at home and work.
I own 4 of these.

I have to admit, prior to this I'd done most crimping with a regular set of pliers, but never again. These pliers work like dream and are absolutely the best thing for crimping shielded and unshielded, not to mention the addition of a cutting end.
Having already used this a few times, I can honestly say that it does what it's supposed to and it does it very, very well. You can't possibly be disappointed in this thing, although you might be disappointed in yourself for not having picked one up sooner. I would never go back to doing crimping without these pliers, I'm too spoiled now. They're that good!

This is a high quality tool with plenty of leverage for crimping, and for cutting electrical wire. I would not recommend trying to cut anything thicker than 12 gauge copper wire, and it is not intended for cutting steel wire or steel cable.

Used this on a job I had done previously with my crimper / stripper from Harbor Freight. Discovered that the connection hadn't been secure enough with my old tool. Used this new crimper, and worked like a charm! I love not having to fit the handle through the wires in order to crimp them together, especially on boat projects where there's often not a lot of room or a lot of wire to work with.

I bought these after seeing the additional space in the crimping zone on Channellock's website. Other Crimp/cutter tools do not leave this space.
I used the crimping area to make beads on the ends of aluminum intercooler piping. I simply inserted the end of the pipe fully into the jaws n squeezed. After working my way around the pipe, bam, perfect beads that will prevent couplers from blowing off. I have yet to use these as a crimper or cutter, but I don't see how they'd have a problem performing those duties either. 5 stars n 2 thumbs up...

I had decided to buy a cheaper wire crimper at Lowes . I wasn't very happy with this tool and decided to purchase the Channellock. The difference is night and day. The Channellock crimper opens easily and slips over the connector just as easily. It grips the connector very tightly and makes a very strong connection. The Channellock is worth the extra money. Great quality.
