Beautiful!!,
By Rizgar (Sweden) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Chant of Drums (Audio CD)
Musical pieces in this album are arranged for a beautiful combination of Kurdish and Iranian percussion instruments. The Kamkars perform them with their usual mastery, innovation and dynamism. There is no singing here except for some sufi words derived from sufi chants of Iranian Kurdistan, and performed to add a spiritual atmosphere to the music. For some listeners, the music may sound a kinad of "similar" all the way, but that will surely not the case with the trained listener. A good album for anyone interested in Kurdish, Middle Eastern or sufi music.
