Great tea kettle,

I bought this kettle a couple of weeks ago at a discount store. I am very pleased with it. Waters boils faster than any other pot or kettle I have used on my gas stove. It pours well, and the handle doesn't get too hot. I can actually flip open the spout and pour without using a pot handler. Whistle is okay, but I wish it was a little louder. Pretty yellow color, warm but not garish. Well made. My older, very expensive Chantal kettle was rusting on the inside. This one appears to have a better finish.

Did a lot of comparisons for tea kettles and this one won. When you are boiling the kettle doesn't make a lot of boiling sounds like the cheap tin kettles, and the whistle is nice and low-toned (not obnoxiousness) but still easy to hear. Durable and feels great, easy to clean outside, the inside has a blue enamel (pretty), and it holds a good amount of water for 4+ cups. Lid fits on nice and snug and the lip is sturdy....awesome tea kettle, worth every penny.

nice kettle, whistle not wonderful,

I purchased my kettle a few days ago at TJ Maxx for $30. It's adorable, I bought it in the red. It works fine, heats fast, stays warm for quite a while. I have no idea if this is supposed to have two-tone harmonica whistle or not (like the higher priced Chantal kettles advertise), it only makes a high shrill typical whistle noise, which is OK considering I paid a lower price. The label said it was the "Arch" model, but it looks exactly like this Bridge photo. The one thing I was concerned about was how hot did the metal get on the pouring spout. This has turned out not to be problem. I can tip the spout up and down with my finger without burning myself when I pour the heated water.

After getting over the color, which was much lighter than what I wanted and what is pictured, I learned to like this tea kettle very much. It heats up really fast (I found that hard to believe when reading others' reviews, but it's true!). The handle stays cool. The top fits snugly. The whistle is not too loud and not too soft; it isn't too hot to touch. Water pours cleanly without dribbling. And it is very pretty.

Attractive and functional, even if it sounds like a dying cat,

After a lot of research, I went with the golden yellow version of this tea kettle. It looks really great in my kitchen and the shape and vibrant-colored enamel make me smile. So far there haven't been any problems using it on my gas stove. The handle stays cool, but the metal spout gets a little hot (but does cool down fast). The one con here is the whistle; it's not pretty. Some online reviewers said they could barely hear it, but mine is loud and shrill. I don't understand why Chantal can't make this with the pleasant, harmonica-style whistle that my last tea kettle (a cheap, dangerous piece of trash) managed to have.

flawed finish,

Chips all over the "Clear Pure" finish, with black flecks showing through - one chip at the lid/rim has rust showing through already and it's never been used.
Even if there were no flaws in the finish, this shows that they're using an enameling process that will NOT last. Go with stainless steel.

First the good news - it's cute, well built, and works just fine. I like the way the whistle sounds - it's basically just an old school, classic kettle whistle.
The bad news - The single most annoying thing is that it dribbles when you pour. I don't know why it's so hard to make a kettle that doesn't drip but if you care about that keep looking. I've also had some issues with the handle or the spout cover being very hot - it really depends on how cold the water was to start, and which burner I'm using. Because the base of this kettle is so small it's easy to have a burner that's actually a little bigger and there's a lot of extra heat going up the sides. A more flat bottomed kettle is a lot more efficient.

I almost didn't buy this kettle since I was worried that it would chip easily, as it did for one previous reviewer, but I'm so glad I bought it! The golden yellow color is very true to the color shown in the photo here, and the inside has a bright blue coating that is also very nice. It looks cheery sitting on my stove top, and heats up really quickly.
Here are more things I like about it: * you can turn the heat to high while using it (my previous tea kettle had to stay at medium-high heat, which took longer to boil the water) * it is bright and cheery-looking * it is easy to clean * it doesn't drip water when pouring * it is large enough to make 4-6 cups of tea * the whistle isn't annoying; it's not too loud either The only downside is that you *do* need to use a pot holder to handle it since the black handle does get pretty hot. It seems like this is true of pretty much every tea kettle I looked at on Amazon, though, so I was expecting it. I will update my review after I've had this for a few months, but so far it's great!

I ordered this tea kettle and I am in LOVE with it! It is a gorgeous almond color and it is bigger than I expected it to be. I have not yet gotten the chance to use it but I can't wait to! I would highly recommend this product! Great value for the money!
