Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Many cookware manufacturers have introduced lines featuring enameled exteriors but Chantal enameled cookware is one of the long-standing originals, providing both excellent performance and colorful flair for your kitchen. This 2-quart saucepan has a gorgeous, high-quality German-made enameled interior and exterior that are resistant to chipping and fading, easy to clean, and encased in stainless-steel rims for added durability. In addition, the nonporous enamel won’t absorb food odors or flavors. A heavy-gauge carbon steel core gives the pan substantial heft and heats up faster than ordinary cookware. This saucepan is just the right size to boil rice for four, melt sugar into a sweet caramel sauce, or reheat three to four servings of soup. The steel-rimmed, tempered glass lid has a high, domed shape, is oven-safe to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, and is transparent so you can cook without removing the lid and letting steam escape. The saucepan’s long, stainless-steel loop handle is designed with patented air pockets to keep hands cool when grasping the handle over a hot stove. In the event that there are leftovers, this cookware is safe for the freezer, plus it is dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning. This cookware is safe for use on traditional, ceramic, and magnetic induction stovetops. Chantal offers a lifetime warranty on the enamel coating. --Cristina Vaamonde

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Quality Product, February 2, 2006
I got it here at Amazon and I'm so happy with my purchase. Yes it is pricy but the quality of steel enamel is really good. It also works with induction cooktop. Lighter than Le Crueset, which is a cast iron, little cheaper too! And easy to clean. The glass top really makes it look so much better and you can see what you're cooking. I highly recommend this product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth the Inflated Price!, August 27, 2009
I purchased a similar Chantal stainless steel saucepan less than five years ago, and I have a few other Chantal products. Overall, the cookware is of good quality, but it is way over-priced.

PROS: The saucepan cooks beautifully and has a nice, heavy-gauge bottom, which evenly distributes heat without burning or scorching. The handle tends to remain cool, unless the burner under the pan is set very high. The glass lid makes it easy to see whether food is simmering or rapidly boiling without taking the lid off.

CONS: I had the saucepan less than five years, and while washing it in the sink the other day, the handle just fell off. Literally. There is no way to get the handle back onto the pot. It appears that the handle was welded to the pot at two, very small points, which gave way. I certainly expect that for the price paid for this cookware, I would get at least 10 years out of it.

I will not purchase Chantal again, but will opt for Calphalon, or even Anolon, both of which I own and have functioned very well for over 10 years now!

5.0 out of 5 stars great cookware, May 1, 2011

these cookware, made in Germany, are the best ones I own. I have had mine for about 7, 8 years now and they are truly lovely. They heat up evenly and as long as you are not using metal utensils or sponges that are hard on surface, the enamel hold up very well with NO chipping whatsoever. Easy to clean, glass lids are heavy and fits well. Recommend highly.
