4.0 out of 5 stars watch out for multiple CDs with similar names, August 29, 2005

I had originally ordered the CD here, supposedly all sung by Joyce. However, I received "Les plus belles chansons de AC Jobin & V de Moraes." 14 songs, only 2 sung by Joyce. It was nice music but not what was expected (the seller issued a refund). When I checked on the Amazon site further, I see that there are at least 2 tributes to Jobim and Moraes sung by different people, including Joyce. There is also 1, maybe more CDs of just Joyce singing songs by those composers. Some of these CDs have almost the same cover art on the Amazon site, others have no cover art shown, so you can't go just by that.

This is just a note to carefully check the listing of song tracks, and emails sellers beforehand to confirm if necessary. It's all great music, but it's more complicated than it looks to get exactly the CD you want in this case! :-)

When I ordered this CD I expected !- The program would consist of collaborations between Jobim and De Moraes, 2- Joyce would be on guitar, 3- The instrumentation would include acoustic piano and 4- Joyce would be faithful to the written melodies. 1- Jobim and De Moraes collaborate on only 4 of the 14 songs. 2-Toninho Horta plays guitar. 3- Gilson Peranzzetta plays nothing but keyboards. 4- You will not learn any of these songs from listening to Joyce's incredibly loose time. Bottom line: forget your expectations- this CD is utterly charming from start to finish.
