5.0 out of 5 stars Nonstop Warhammer Action, January 25, 2008
This review is from: Mark of Chaos (Warhammer Novels) (Mass Market Paperback)
This novel is set the year following the Great War against Chaos (2302). The action mostly follows two characters Stefan von Kessel, a Captain in the Ostermark army and Hroth the Blooded a chaos champion.

The book is virtually non-stop action as the two leaders fight their way to their eventual confrontation at Talabheim. The action is fast, furious and bloody as both champions must face external opponents and betrayal from their own side. The various battles are well-paced and provide enough details to engage the reader. The final battle is excellent

The book is heavy on action and somewhat light on character development but I found both main characters to be interesting.

Despite the fact that this book has the same plot as the video game of the same name, it is an excellent action-packed Warhammer novel, well worth reading.

nthony Reynolds' MARK OF CHAOS offers Warhammer fans a saga of war and the story of a young commander who must retain his honor by tracking down and destroying a dangerous enemy leader. 5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely loved it!!!, February 12, 2011
This review is from: Mark of Chaos (Warhammer Novels) (Mass Market Paperback)
Really enjoyed all 3 novels, Dark Disciple, Dark Apostle and Mark of Chaos, all by Anthony Reynolds. This was a cool introduction to the Warhammer 40000 novels and I have enjoyed all the ones I have read so far but these have been my favorite, guess I am a Chaos Marine at heart(s). Filled with ultraviolence, occultic machinery, chaos magic, alien technology and Gigeresque descriptions of the Chaos Marines and told mostly from the bad guys point of view, these novels just become more and more interesting as you read along. Once I got past the half way mark in each book, I found it really difficult to put it down to take care of real life. What's not to love? 5 stars~!
