Editorial Reviews

Review

As if the praise were jet propellant, Camp launches onto the stage and soars into the sarcasm stratosphere, instantly displaying the verbal dexterity and indignation necessary to merit the mantel of prospective Carlin clone. --John Delery, PunchlineMagazine[dot]com, February 23, 2011

...he is giving you something to think about. It isn't just mindless d*ck jokes and bullshi*t pop culture references to feed the sheep that flock to a lot of the comedy that exists today. It is genuinely funny stuff that makes you think. And the jokes come rapid fire and almost all hit 100%. I won't lie, a few don't hit on all cylinders, but like a true professional Camp deals with the very few times that happens and goes right through without missing a beat. --WhiskeyandSkittles[dot]com, February 28, 2011

Product Description

Any comedian would be honored to start his CD with a personal endorsement in which George Carlin’s daughter explains how this particular wit will be Carlin’s torch-bearer. But it’s the simple, sincere list of ways in which Lee Camp is qualified to carry the flame that seals the deal. Kelly Carlin tells us three important things: Camp is a thinking person’s comic, he may just p*ss us off a bit, and most crucially, he’s really f*cking funny. Yup, she needed two of the seven famous “dirty words.”

Speaking of which, on Lee Camp’s latest stand-up disc, it’s not the dirty words that’ll catch your ear (though you will hear a few novel permutations), it’s the sentences you’ll never hear anywhere else. For instance, “I’m for plumber-suggested suicide.” Or, say, “People say abortion is ‘playing God’? No, remote control corn-hole is ‘playing God’.” Or even, “Just a couple of ‘em wake up with a Tickle Me Elmo through the medulla oblongata, and the others would change their tune!” Now, more than ever, we need absurdist realism on stage to help us sort through, get a grip on, and maybe even change the absurdities of reality, we need “Chaos for the Weary.” Lee Camp used to look at all the terrible things on the horizon, and first he blamed Bush and Cheney, and then he blamed the Democrats, and then for a while, he blamed David Hasselhoff. What can we say? It was a weird time in his life.

Perhaps the only man on Stand Up! Records’ roster to have been endorsed by General Wesley Clark (former NATO Supreme Allied Commander), featured on Al Jazeera, and included in Paul Provenza’s loving 2010 portrait ¡Satiristas!: Comedians, Contrarians, Raconteurs, & Vulgarians, Lee Camp’s also the only man we want with his hands on the remote. You’ll get it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Post-Comedy May 9, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I liked Lee Camp's "Chaos For The Weary" CD so much, I bought several copies as a gift item for my friends. Lee's style goes beyond comedy to embrace social issues much like his predecessors George Carlin and Lenny Bruce did. My only hope is that soon, millions will discover him as I have.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a Comedic Goldmine!!! July 3, 2011
Format:Audio CD
Lee Camp is by far, one of the BEST and Brightest comedians out there today! His recently released cd, 'Chaos for the Weary' as well as his 'Moments of Clarity' on YouTube (visit his website, LeeCamp.net) are brilliant, clever, unique, passionate. Some parts may be uncomfortable, too truthful for some. He is definitely headed staight to the top. He is like a machine gun with words as bullets (hollow point.) He can go from quirky light subjects then, POW! he hits you with positively intense and how our society needs to stop with all the apathetic insanity running rampant these days material. He blends them so well, and entertains as he educates...he has brought up issues I didn't know existed. Lee is intelligent, informative, furious about important issues, how all the wrong people are still in control and still winning. All of this as well as making us laugh. If you can ever catch him live or buy his cd...you will NOT be disappointed!

Chaos for the Weary

Lee Camp is also one of the brilliant minds featured in a book called 'Satiristas!'
written by Paul Provenza and Dan Dion
Definitely a Can't Put it Down Style of Book. It is an amazing wealth of insight, intelligence and just plain old fascinating, interesting looks into some major heavy hitters of satire. We should be thanking them for sharing and allowing us the opporunity and pleasure of their minds!

5.0 out of 5 stars Only for those who enjoy laughing August 28, 2012
By J.Thurn
Format:Audio CD
Political comedy at its utter best. There's never a dull moment in Chaos for the Weary because Lee Camp is not a dull person. He's razor sharp, discerning, and hilarious. What's more is that he actually gives a damn, and it shows through in his unflagging and passionate delivery.

If you hate laughing, don't buy this album. Otherwise, you have nothing to lose.
