A Rare Gem,
By "gumby32" (Austin, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Chaotic Logic: Language, Thought, and Reality from the Perspective of Complex Systems Science (IFSR International Series on Systems Science and Engineering) (Hardcover)
This book audaciously puts forth an "equation of mind" in the first chapter, and from there goes on to derive language, thought, and reality... and it succeeds! My only complaint is that the author sometimes resorts to formalism and math where it doesn't seem to add anything to understanding of a point. But the technical sections are clearly marked, and you can usually "hum along" without being distracted by the details. This ambitious book is a good read and highly recommended.
