5.0 out of 5 stars This 2 gallon model is best, even for small fluid volume
Nicely constructed! You may be trying to decide between the 1 gallon model and this 2 gallon model. The benefit of the larger model is that, for example, if you only have 1 gallon of liquid inside, there is still 1 gallon of air pocket left over that you can compress for more spraying power. If you buy the 1 gallon model and you fill it completely, then there is very...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly constructed
We were able to get one use out of this sprayer and then, like others have said, the cheap plastic hinges that hold the handle in place became broken/stripped; and once this happens, you can no longer use the handle to pull the piston/plunger out of the nozzle, which prevents the unit from being able to spray.

I tried to save a few bucks, and it ended up biting...

Nicely constructed! You may be trying to decide between the 1 gallon model and this 2 gallon model. The benefit of the larger model is that, for example, if you only have 1 gallon of liquid inside, there is still 1 gallon of air pocket left over that you can compress for more spraying power. If you buy the 1 gallon model and you fill it completely, then there is very little air inside that you can compress initially. This is the perfect size for easy carrying around the garden, just fill it half way with liquid and the leftover volume is a larger air spring.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great initially, but you need to get the replacement handle, December 4, 2009

Filled the tank multiple times and sprayed my whole backyard. One week later when I went to apply a second coat, the trigger handle started to pop off whenever I squeezed it. I contacted Chapin support and they are sending me the "new, redesigned trigger handle" - which makes me ask why they didn't just put it in the box in the first place.

5.0 out of 5 stars great tool and great customer service, May 27, 2010

I used it last season, it worked great. I pulled it out of the shed this spring and realized that the lever is missing. So I cannot squeeze and spray the liquid. I searched and searched, have no idea how it would dis-connect and where it would go. Called the Chapin customer service and without any question the lady just took my name and address and said it will be in the mail. No charge. Nice!

I bought this because other sprayers I have tried always clog constantly and require nozzle cleaning numerous times during use. This has a screen on the end of the feed tube and it really seems to keep the nozzle from clogging. I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars AHHH A sprayer that SPRAYS!!!!, August 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Chapin 20020 SureSpray 2-Gallon Sprayer (Lawn & Patio)
I bought this out of total frustration with a very expensive, stainless steel pump sprayer that I'd struggled with for 2 years. (Hated to admit I'd spent so much money on something that just didn't work!)

This is a snap to clean, lightweight, holds pressure well (only have to pump it twice for a gallon of liquid). If you gardeners haven't read about milk and water to cure powdery mildew on your flox, bee balm, lung wort, etc.....you need to....and you'll need this sprayer. (mix 9 parts water with 1 part skim milk and spray your plants once a week) This is the first year I've had ZERO, ZIP, NADA POWDERY MILDEW in my gardens and this sprayer makes it easy to keep up!

I've had no problems at all with it, but glad to read that you can buy parts if needed.

I bought this to apply "Wet & Forget" onto my deck. The sprayer works well. The printing (instructions) on the side are impossible to read because it is white on white. But the pamphlet tells you all you need to know. Just use a marking pen to mark on the side where the fill lines are. So far, the "Wet & Forget" hasn't seemed to work - but they say it can take months to see any results, but this sprayer got it applied easily.

I tried to save a few bucks, and it ended up biting me in the buttocks. Don't buy this item--the most important part of it is junk. Do yourself a favor go to an actual store and inspect their sprayers for integrity before you make a purchasing decision.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, which saved my boxwoods when all else failed!, July 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Chapin 20020 SureSpray 2-Gallon Sprayer (Lawn & Patio)
This 2 gallon sprayer is SO great! Easy to use and effective, I was able to easily spray Neem oil on all of my shrubs and trees. I was able to save my boxwoods and roses from infestations that were so entrenched that I had almost given up on trying to save them!

The first time I sprayed my shrubs, I had to keep mixing small batches and apply with an empty Spray 'n' Wash bottle. What a pain! Your arm gets really tired from all of the manual pumping. This sprayer is light weight, easy to use and clean, and works great! Someone who reviewed this before I purchased it recommended going over the markings in black sharpie so they are easier to read, which is absolutely necessary and a great idea!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for washing car or motorcycle!, April 8, 2009

I live in an apartment and therefore i have no hose to wash my motorcycle. I refuse to take it to a car wash as the high pressure washers are too powerful and might damage the sensitive parts on the bike so hand washing is a must. plus those stupid brushes at the car wash WILL scratch your paint, mark my words. I don't like those waterless sprays and TBQH they will not remove dirt like the old fashioned water and bucket method will, and you do run the risk of ruining the paint (i dont care what people say i won't risk my paint to try). This works PERFECTLY for rinsing off the suds after washing with a bucket. 2 gallons full to the top is all i needed to do a complete wash, then i filled with distilled water and adjusted the nozzle for a spot free rinse and voila she's all clean in no time! some people like to use a super soaker but i think this is better. much more convenient and precise to get in those hard to reach crevices on my bike than a clumsy toy. it works so well, i'm considering using it on my car but i'm not 100% sure that refilling it 3 times would be very fun but it could be worth a try...maybe i'll report back after trying ;)

if i wished for anything more it would be a nozzle setting for even more water flow (on a side note, the pressure is actually very good for a hand pump sprayer, but i need more water!!) so that it would rinse easier but i'm not going to complain. it is a pesticide sprayer and not a hose after all...
