This book takes you all the way through the process of being pregnant with preparation and having a healthy pregnancy. The author relays what is happening in your body and how your baby is developing. She also gives you good advice about how to exercise during your pregnancy period and helps you telling about what problems you might have. The book as well gives thorough information about childbirth and the period after your childbirth.
If you are an eager reader willing to consume a large amount of text, I recomment this book.
However, If you are the lazy type as I am and just want to follow the development of your child, I recommend that you read Pregnancy Books For First Time Moms: The First Trimester Book
All in all, it is a well-written and professional formatted book.
A minor problem: I read this book on my Nexus 7, and I am sorry to say that many links in the table of content didn't work. That was a bit annoying:(

If you've never heard of a birth plan or have no idea what you want to do, then this might be helpful. I found it pretty much useless, and repetitive. Not quite what I was looking for as a first time mom.

Finally, a book that holds a nice balance of giving me info without scaring the crap out of me! Some of the other books I tried either gave me a list of horrifying "this might happen to you" scenarios that only stressed me out with worry, or tried to convince me what a horrible, awful, evil person I was for wanting a hospital birth over a home birth. (BTW, it's now after the fact and I had a hospital birth and it was FLAWLESS. A wonderful experience that I highly recommend, because I took the time to research which local hospital has the best maternity ratings.) But this book leaves its opinions at the door and simply gives me the info I WANT. I recommend it for first time preggos who want a hospital birth.

I'm about 8-9 weeks along- and this book (so far) has everything I was looking for. It's got so much helpful information- and tips and direct quotes from other women on their experiences. The drawings remind me of health class way back when.... But I have forgotten so much that it is good to be able to see all the insides. This is a good complement to What to Expect.

This book is very informative! I enjoyed reading it much more than What To Expect (which I was not at all happy with). After reading it, it was actually recommended to me by my labor class instructor, OB, and Midwife. I've already been recommending it to my pregnant friends. I really do believe its a library must have for those expecting!

Definitely plan to buy the whole book after reading the free chapter. Very useful birth plan examples, outlines, and advice.

Don't bother, its a waste of time... a pamphlet at best, on Amazon no less... you could purchase better leaflets..

It's one chapter, but I'm looking forward to much more. than a bit of info. It did the job, but I need more. Get the whole book. Get fully informed. Every woman and her birth partner should have a plan for birth. It helps focus and engagement and helps prepare for a miraculous birth!
