Great Music, March 2, 2011

This CD continues with the tradition of Xtreme. This bachata group has managed to deliver quality music for the fans. I love this group. Xtreme rocks.

Xtreme crap, August 11, 2009
This review is from: Chapter Dos (Audio CD)
I didn't even have to listen to this insipid cacophony to know that it was not worth my time. I honestly tried my best to be open-minded with these guys, but they are just talentless. Just take the first sigle "Lloro y Lloro," this song is so insulting. First of all it sounds like it took all of three minutes to write with its painfully simple lyrics and the vocals are monotonous and out of key. Maybe I'm being a little bias because I am not a fan of "pop" bachata, but not even Toby Love is as bad as these guys, at least he had one decent song, "Llorar Lloviendo," these guys have none!!!!! It's pollution to the ears!!!!! By self-admittance, I am not a huge fan of Aventura, but they are 10 times better than these guys. At least Aventura sings songs with a degree of lyrical depth about a wide variety of subjects, Xtreme is just a faceless bachata duo that does nothing to distinguish themselves from the rest. Clearly they are just capitalizing on the hard work Aventura did to help commercialize bachata. Hopefully with time people will get smart and realize that these guys for lack of a better term, suck!!! My only wish is that in five years Xtreme will be a distant memory and we will be able to forget about the irreparable damage they caused to bachata music.
