Harmony does a great job on "Aftermath," the production is strong and the musicianship is top notch! The music is kind of Progressive with elements of Symphony X and Magnitude 9 sneaking through, but generally their style is a melodic metal not too far off from bands like Kamelot and Sonata Arctica. Like a lot of European bands, Harmony retains those superior elements of 80's metal (melody, driving beat, soaring vocals and killer guitar solos), while doing away with the dated elements,(echoey and thin sounding production, cheesy lyrics, and stiff drum beats).This is what I like about these European metal bands, they keep the pedigree and spirit of 80's metal without sounding dated. The drum work is phenomenal with lots of double bass, interesting tom patterns and time changes, the bass lines are ballsy and stick out loud and proud, while the guitar playing is thick, heavy and complex and the solos are smooth fast and melodic. The keyboards are also interesting and there are some great textures and solo duels with the guitars. The vocals are smooth and truly fly like an eagle! Songs like: Prevail, Rain, Kingdom, Inner Peace, and End Of My Road are extremely melodic and spirit lifting! That's another thing, these guys have very Christian lyrics. I'm not sure if they are a Christian band per say but I find that possibility to be very high as the lyrics have Christian themes, and the band is marketed through a Christian metal label. They are not Christian in a Stryper kind of way but more subtle, so I think that a lot of non-Christians would enjoy this album. However, I think Christians will enjoy it more since they not only can appreciate the music but the lyrical themes as well. I found it ironic that Daniel Heiman, former member of Lost Horizon, does guest vocals on "Inner Peace," a song where he sings to the "King of Kings." If you've heard Lost Horizon's lyrics you'd understand what I mean. Although I love Daniel's voice I didn't always agree with the lyrics he sang in Lost Horizon. Therefore it was a real pleasure to see his voice put to lyrics that I agree with and can proudly sing along to. In closing I'd recommend this cd to people who like good metal that has melody, actual guitar riffs that you can sing along to,(remember those), guitar solos that will knock your socks off, and a positive uplifting message and overall vibe that will lift your spirits and put a smile on your face,(also hard to find in todays metal)!!!

I love discovering new music by browsing Amazon's recommendations. I have found some real clunkers that way, but I have also found some amazing albums. Harmony is a band that I had never heard of before, but I gave some of their song clips a try and decided 'Chapter II: Aftermath' was worth my money. Boy, was it! The power metal songs are dripping with melody and the writing is top-notch. My favorite part of the album is the keyboards. The keyboardist doesn't necessarily play the fastest passages, but what he does play is well composed and placed. I would compare Harmony to Almah, Rob Rock, and Pyramaze. Highly recommended!

Harmony = Darkwater = Awesome,

I purchased this album because all of the members of Harmony are also in the progressive metal band Darkwater, and I love both of Darkwater's albums. Musically Harmony is a little less progressive and a little more power/ melodic metal, but it still sounds great.

Why can't we download this music in Canada??Or anywhere outside of the USA? I have bought books from Amazon.com, why not MP3s?? It's just transferring MP3s!! It would also be nice to know that the installed downloader is useless outside the USA. Thanks.
