Very Underrated Masterpiece, January 22, 2012
This review is from: Chapter II: Fallen (Audio CD)
Australia is one of the best countries at producing extreme/experimental metal bands that seem to disappear overnight without nary a person realizing their greatness. This album is a gothic/doom masterpiece often drawing comparisons to England's My Dying Bride. Fans of MDB would be wise to give this release a twirl. The melancholic slowly paced melodies create an atmosphere that with quality riffage in all tracks weaves together to create some of the more brilliant musical works I have heard in recent memory (my memory: an ocean of unknown metal bands wanting to be heard). Violins and synthesizers bolster the conventional rock group configuration in this outfit to make the experience truly tasteful and unique. My review is more of a homage to a band that does not deserve to remain completely unknown and unheralded. This is the pinnacle of their achievement before changing their name to The Eternal. The Eternal goes a completely different more accessible route for the listener. They are good for different reasons.
