This album is one of the best albums I've heard all year, and I waited for it all year.
Kandis A.
Consistent and thorough, this CD is great for a long ride, a relaxing evening with a bottle of wine, or as the sountrack to a Girl's night Out.

I've been listening to and admiring Syleena Johnson since the release of her first CD - Chapter 1: Love, Pain and Forgiveness which features the classic "I Am Your Woman" produced by the one and only R. Kelly. I just knew then that she would be a star.

She was a featured artist at a local Christmas party thrown by a hometown hero pro football player at the time and I even got her autograph. Imagine my disappointment when most people I talked to had never even heard the name, much less the dynamic body of music of this lovely, down to earth and beautiful woman.

Nevertheless, I purchased every CD faithfully, speaking of which, my favorite of them all being Chapter 2: The Voice, featuring one of my favorites of all time, the upbeat and inspiring, "Faithful."

But I digress. The other night my husband called me from work and said, "I know something you don't know."

I asked, "What?"

He said, "Syleena Johnson has a new CD out."

Immediately I ordered it, and it arrived yesterday. I listened to it on the way home, at home and when I awakened this morning. Immediate stand outs were the club bangers "A Boss" where she boldly claims her title of woman, wife and songstress and the simple need of a man who brings the same to the table. I fell in love with "Go Head," where she puts a wannabe Mack in his place and "Label Me" where she boldly addresses naysayers and invites them to get it right when they want to talk about her. Personally, I found I could relate most to the ballads, "Like Thorns" and "My Shoes" where she sings so beautifully and the lyrics so eloquently describe a love that takes you back and forth and forth and back. Coincidently, my husband pegged these would be my favorites, too.

Where can I start, I've been a faithful fan of Ms. Johnson since the beginning! I love her raw and soulful vocals with very thought provoking and in-depth lyrics. So it was a given I was going to get this album as soon as it came out. I had been following its release since she announced there would be a Chapter 5! I was super excited and love the first single "A Boss", very current but still a Syleena track! But once I heard the whole album, I said to myself, "Damn, she did it again!" The whole album is incredible from start to finish. There's a little bit of everything on the album but all of the material meshes well together. And another thing I like about Ms. Johnson is that she knows how to pick other artists to compliment her voice making her features on her albums even better! This album is one of the best albums I've heard all year, and I waited for it all year. I wish Syleena so much success off this album. But the crazy thing about Ms. Johnson talent is that she always makes an album better than her last and that speaks volumes about her talent!!! I love you Syleena and keep making great music for the true soul fans!!!!

I think that this is the worst album Syleena has ever done. My first taste of Syleena was Ch. 3 which is AMAZING!! I am so in love with that album but a lot of these tracks are just bad, like "A Boss" is just too good a song for her in my opinion, I think CH. 4 is way better than this as well. I still love Syleena, just I am somewhat disappointed with this album.

I have to say that this cd here is one of her best production. She took her time finding the right production crew that got her interest at heart and did the damn thing on this album. I was skeptical at first because majority of her cds commencing from chapt 1 though 4 weren't that good and to be honest this album is as good as her early recordings of "Love Hangover" because she took the beats straight to R&B and hiphop and left the rhythm and blues at home where it belongs. Its worth your money if you want to hear to some soulful voice with a touch of R&B and hiphop.

I couldn't wait until syleena dropped Chapter 5, I saw her amazing live performance on stageit and I was wowed! lol! No joke, she is the truth.com, and as long as syleena puts out good music her fans will never see her as underrated!!!

Maybe it a better production value, I just don't know, but what I do know is that this is the strongest I have heard from Syleena in a long while. Her music is jammin' and her voice is stronger than I have ever heard it. The headbangers songs, the songs of independence within herself and other women, the sexy ballads and her heartbreak tunes...everything just has so much feeling. She is performing from the bottom of her gut and it just shows what the music world is missing. Syleena is still in the game, and with this release, she's playing to win.

yes, indeed, ms. syleena is surely underrated! the title definitely fits this album.

i'm in total agreement with the comment above. this is definitely another best album for twenty-eleven along kelly price's 'kelly', jill scott's 'light of the sun' & 'from the vault' and kelly rowland's 'here i am'... it's ashame that the real and talented singers are overshadowed by worthless talent.
