5.0 out of 5 stars So many horrible reviews for a cheap grill...
I bought this grill elsewhere for 80 bucks and the only thing that I can say is that it is a great grill for 80 bucks. Assembly instructions were clear enough for me to follow and not make any mistakes. I do agree that it took a good chunk of time to put together, but for 80 dollars, what do you expect?

I understand the low star rating for the customer(s)...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price but cheaper elsewhere
Great little grill. Bought it for my mother's condo patio. Took a while to assemble but Home Depot carries it for less than $69. Look around as this is somehow too pricey.

I understand the low star rating for the customer(s) that did not receive all of the parts for their grill (my grill came with all noted parts). What I can't understand is people complaining about a grill this cheap that does what it is supposed to do. If you don't want to assemble a grill (or if you can't read instructions), don't buy the grill online. Did you expect it to be assembled and delivered to your back porch? There are plenty of stores that you can go to and buy a pre-assembled grill. If your expecting the highest quality grill for 80 dollars, then you have another problem altogether.

This grill is perfect for my situation, as we live in a 2 bedroom condo on the second floor that only has a small patio/balcony. I was able to leave the left shelf off of the grill and it fits nice and flush against the corner wall. Although I have only grilled on it 3 times so far, it does a fairly good job and it is much better than using our old propane grill that sat on the floor. I would highly recommend this grill if you are looking for a smaller no frills grill that does its job well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value, September 30, 2009

I had a CharBroil unit before this one that lasted me fifteen years, so I thought I'd try another. This is a great little unit. It is a little wider than my previous unit, but significantly deeper. The internal design, with its rounded heating container, foil over the burners and larger grill surface make for more even heat distribution and smoother cooking. The plastic side shelves are much less likely to warp the way the cedar ones on my previous unit did and the utensil hangers on them are very convenient. Its push button lighter works like a charm and the match holder on a chain that comes with the unit is a nice accessory. All the listed parts came with it, but you have to read the assembly manual VERY carefully to avoid having to go back and do things over as it is not intuitive at all. The only real neagtive about this unit is the assembly time. The 45 minutes listed in the manual is ridiculous. Only someone who is very mechanically inclined AND has done it before could assemble this grill in that time. It took me over three hours.

Bought it at a general store for 80 bucks. Afte reading all the reviews here, we were very suspicious about the assembly. So we started very carefully and took stock of all the parts after opening the box. Surprisingly all the parts were there and none was missing. It took me and my wife about 2 hrs to assemble. But the instructions in the booklet were clear and they had very properly marked all the screws which was really helpful.
Did our first barbecue yesterday evening and turn out to be good.
Cooking area is good for 4-5 people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent Grill for the Price, May 3, 2011
This review is from: Char-Broil 26,500 BTU 2-Burner Gas Grill, 280 Square Inch (Lawn & Patio)
I picked this grill up at local retailer for about $90.00. The only real issue I have with it was the assembly. It took myself and another person around 3 hours because we had to start over once. If you buy this grill read the instructions very carefully, which you should be anyway.

This is my second Char Broil. My first one I bought at college, and I wish I was able to bring it home. I couldn't fit it in the moving van. My last grill was a piece of garbage Lowe's brand BBQ Grill master. I think I paid over $150.00 for it. Within 2.5 years the whole thing completely rusted out including the burners. I researched the burners, and could find them for around $60.00, but I decided to buy a whole new grill. After doing some research I realized the char broil replacement parts are sold everywhere for low prices. So even if this grill gets rusty the new burner for it is around $25.00.

I cooked 2 very thin t-bone steaks medium done last night in about 7 minutes. They tasted good. The heat seemed to be evenly distributed, and flare ups were not a big problem. I wish it had a second grill rack in it, but for the price who cares. I wouldn't recommend this if you cook for a family all the time. You could cook for 3 people on this no problem, but 4 or more large steaks won't fit. You could fit a decent amount of burgers on it though. My last 2 grills had side burners, but I never used them anyway.

If you are looking for a no frills low priced grill then you have found your winner. If you want to spend a couple hundred dollars I would be looking at the Weber brand grills. I just didn't have the money for that. If I get 4-5 years from this grill I will be happy.

My brother just got married a little over a year ago, and I got this grill for them at Target or some such store. I assembled it before the wedding and we had a BBQ after the formal reception. Assembly was a little tricky, but I'm pretty good with my hands, and it only took me an hour or so by myself. There was one nut missing that would hold the lid to the hinge, but we just sent someone out to the hardware store to pick one up. I don't think my brother ever bothered trying to get one from the company. He loves it, and they tell me that they use it frequently. It's a perfect fit for them as they have a relatively tiny apartment, and not a whole lot of space on their 2nd story deck. Our overall opinion of the grill is great, and I'm considering getting one for myself to replace our aging charcoal grill. Honestly we should have gone propane years ago.

If you're looking for a smaller grill, or just one that's not too expensive, this one is a great value.

It was what I expected for the price. I already had a propane tank so I didn't have to purchase one. It came in excellent shape. A little confusing to assemble but I got by. The price is about ten dollars more than what you can get local but I didn't want to try to squeeze it in my car if I bought local.

the assembly instructions were not very clear, resulting in some disassembly and re-assembly. It has a little smaller cooking surface area than I thought it would, but the unit works like a charm.

3.0 out of 5 stars not built to last, June 29, 2011

I have enjoyed the grill... it is perfect for apartment living. Unfortunately, however, the ignite button only works sporadically and the "aluminized steel" burner rusted out entirely making it impossible to control the flame. Replacement parts for this little guy are really pricey especially when you can expect the same short life from the new part. I would give this grill a 4 or 5 if it were not for the poor life-span.

Purchase price was around 92.00 with prime membership delivery. Be aware that tank is not included so that will cost 35-40 dollars (in June 2011). Instructions are adequate but could use improvement. Performs well with burgers and hot dogs.
