Amazon.com Review

Finally--a grill that talks back. Designed to eliminate all kinds of grilling guesswork, the Char-Broil 4638185 electronic grill gives you the scoop on everything from food temperature to fuel levels. Plus, Char-Broil backs up its sophisticated electronics with a smart system of burners and a solid structure. For starters, the grill's burners are tented by stainless-steel bars to keep them clean and cut down on flare-ups. The hickory flavorized ceramic briquettes that come with the grill live underneath the burner, where they don't make the flame uneven. Char-Broil's waterproof electronic ignition (powered by a 9-volt battery included with the grill) delivers a consistent, smooth start. The unit also includes a flush-mounted side burner for sautéing onions, cooking rice, or warming barbecue sauce. For cooking by temperature, the unit features an electronic temperature display with a probe option. Just specify how you want your prime rib cooked, insert the probe periodically, and the display tells you when it's done. You can also cook using a timer that conveniently counts minutes up or down. The grill's electronic fuel gauge lets you know how much gas is in the tank and sounds an alert when fuel is low. Standout structural details include funnel-shaped bottom casting, sturdy side tables, a 1-1/2-inch frame, rust-resistant fasteners, and heavy-duty welding. We also liked the full front panels, the condiment basket, the utensil hooks, and the lid-mounted internal temperature gauge. On its 8-inch wheels and lockable 2-inch casters, this grill goes--and stays--wherever you want it. Because Char-Broil preassembles most of the components, assembly takes about 30 minutes. --Emily Bedard

great grill cooks well works great. The handle is metal and let me tell you how hot that handle gets even when on low. I have to use a pot holder to open it up and it only gets worse when cooking on high. This item needs a new handle and should be recalled.
