5.0 out of 5 stars Chili pepper roaster
works great! Suggestion to put a toothpick through the peppers when you put them in the slot because as they cook - they shrink and fall through the wholes in the roaster!

2.0 out of 5 stars Holes not big enough!
I bought this thinking it would be a useful item mainly because I eat so many peppers of all kinds. When I got it in the mail, I was disappointed to find that the holes in it will hold only the smallest of peppers. All the Jalepenos at the grocery store (and I went to 3 of them looking) were all too large to fit. Even my homegrown peppers are way too big, and end up...

All the Jalepenos at the grocery store (and I went to 3 of them looking) were all too large to fit. Even my homegrown peppers are way too big, and end up just falling ofer spilling the fillings out all over the grill. I have spent some time filing out the holes which has helped somewhat, but basically these roasters are for serranos and other very small chiles.

5.0 out of 5 stars jalapeno roaster, September 22, 2008

this roaster works great whether on the grill (where I used it most) or in the oven. stainless steel makes it nice as you can just toss it in the dishwasher and it's a done deal. this is a tough item to find in stores as I found out. enjoy the poppers

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!!!, August 5, 2007
This review is from: Charbroil Chili Pepper Roaster (Lawn & Patio)
I had roasted jalapeno's at a family gathering and just had to get a roaster. After looking around on the internet I found this one. It's not as fancy as the others but it does the exact same job and for a lot less money. Super easy to use, super easy to clean.

Great product - I would suggest that in future versions, some holes are made a bit larger. Some peppers are wider than others and the narrow holes made some of them want to tip over.

1.0 out of 5 stars Frustrating grilling gadget that's headed for a yard sale, September 29, 2008

We tried this gadget a half dozen times this summer to no avail. The holes fit jalapenos but not much else. The holes are too small to hold the peppers without them falling over. Use toothpicks to prevent your peppers from falling over before you can retrieve them from the grill.

I'm going to sell off this gadget and keep on the lookout for a better grilling tool.

In the meantime, check out these handy grilling tools that will expand your menu:

Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue SR8016 Stainless-Steel Beer-Can Chicken Rack with Drip Pan; and

Outset QN77 Copper Nonstick Grill Skillet with Removable Soft-Grip Handle.

I have positive reviews on both products.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works... But, July 15, 2008

This certainly works but, as mentioned by several other reviewers, the holes are a tad small and the peppers tend to fall over. I dealt with this by putting a wood skewer through several rows of peppers.

Since everyone likes the roasted jalapenos, I ended up purchasing another rack which holds 18 peppers and has slightly larger holes.

This rack did not do well at all. The peppers simply fell over and would not stay tucked into the holes. It might work for tiny jalapenos, but who wants to try to stuff peppers that small?

4.0 out of 5 stars Good,for the price, December 24, 2007
This review is from: Charbroil Chili Pepper Roaster (Lawn & Patio)
The pepper cooker works well & cleans up good but the holes are just a tad small for most peppers and the peppers had a tendency to fall over.If the holes were just a little bigger,it would be an exellent product. That being said,it gets the job done and the price id very good.
